A very useful addition to the SharePoint Migration Tool from Microsoft would be support for SharePoint Online to SharePoint Online migrations. There are many scenarios where this is commonly needed for some customers who must restructure or realign and be able to migrate from one area of SharePoint Online to another. Just in general as well this would be a handy option to have.
Could this please be considered as a future improvement to the SharePoint Migration Tool including support with bulk migrations for SharePoint Online as a source. Thanks.148 votesSharePoint Hybrid and Migration Team responded
Thank you for bringing this suggestion to our attention. While the SharePoint migration investments have been focused on helping the on-prem customer transition to OneDrive and SharePoint in Office 365 using the SharePoint migration tool, we acknowledge that there are additional scenarios like the ones explained in this suggestion that are not covered yet. We are currently considering various options to solve those scenarios, but we cannot commit to anything at this point. Please continue bringing great suggestions to our attention like this one.
We currently have to maintain on-prem OWA server(s) to handle on-prem document previews (even in new Hybrid search), and of course in-browser document editing/viewing. This experience will undoubtedly become fragmented from Office Online as MS adds features to the cloud platform.
I would really like to leverage the Office 365 Online apps to preview/view/edit documents hosted on-prem. This is really the last piece of the hybrid puzzle for us.56 votes
I would like the Delve UX in my SharePoint onprem environment and also have my onprem events from SharePoint, Lync, Exchange and custom sources added to my company's Office graph. The solution may be Hybrid, but integration should be easy to setup and configure.49 votes
Thanks for your feedback! Just a note to let you know that we’re building your suggestion now.
Allow ADFS users to search on premise on their Online AND Onpremise content. ADFS is the only way to provide SSO between Online and OnPremise environment but cannot be used because of the ACL mapping in the Cloud SSA when returning results OnPremise.39 votes
add custom mime-type (such as .svg file) to IIS so that it can open directly in browser other than download it34 votes
The LastItemModifiedDate property of the site object in Office 365 reports the last time an item in the site was modified by either the system or a user. This causes a problem for anyone or any tool trying to do activity reporting to determine the last time a site was modified by a user. Please create a LastItemModifiedByUserDate and/or LastItemModifiedBySystemDate to allow us to distinguish the two.30 votes
Bring the App launcher ribbon form O365 to on Prem and allow use to administer what icons/links appear form central admin.
This would allow the use of SharePoint as a landing page company wide with links to all corporate applications on SharePoint and external.29 votes
The default emails that are sent for an approval workflow are broken. The idea is that users can click on the "Open this Task" button directly within Outlook. But this button is broken (since 2010?)
Beside that there is no such button when using Outlook Web Access.
Therefore there is no way direktly hup into the according task to edit this approval workflow.
This issue should be fixed and the email itself should contain a link to approve or reject this wf directly.20 votes
Currently the Hybrid Config Wizard is unable to accept accounts which are protected by Azure MFA, including app passwords.
Please allow the use of MFA in the Hybrid Config Wizard so we can protect all elevated access accounts in O365.19 votes
Support for migrate from SharePoint 2010 to SPO17 votes
Thank you for providing feedback. While we can’t commit to a timeline right now we are working on enabling the SharePoint 2010 as a source in the SharePoint Migration tool. We will update this suggestion when possible.
Third party tools such as ShareGate and Metalogix allows the customer to migrate libraries with an option (setting) to leave behind the content. This is very common request from our customers needing to cleanup sites/content before migration but allows the migration of site structure. I have been asked if this is possible many time and I can only recomment using a 3rd party tool. This would be a great addition to our migration tool.15 votes
Currently, custom properties from an on-prem farm, like site columns in a site, are only visible to the search service account in O365. Global admins, SharePoint admins, cannot see these properties and cannot access them until they are added to managed properties.13 votes
At present, you need Full Control to view Site Usage Reports. This seems unnecessary to view what is an on-demand obfuscated report. It should be a case of granting someone ‘View Web Analytics Data - View reports on Web site usage’ permission rather than resorting to Full Control just so a VIP can see how his site is used.13 votes
We as SharePoint administrators cannot see how many email SharePoint sends (when sharing sites for example) and are email colleges are complaining that our farm sends to much email. Make it more insightfull12 votes
Can we please get support for on-prem content enrichment as part of the Cloud Hybrid Search service?
Please make the calendar overlay more customizable. At this time, if I overlay multiple calendars and see that I don't like the order in which the events appear on the main calendar, I have to delete all the existing overlaid calendars and start over completely. For any group like the ones I work with where there might be 4 calendars and 2 items on each calendar for any given day, deleting and starting over is not an option, so I have to go in and make sure that everyone knows "Please be sure to look at all items in a date so as not to confuse order of responsibility" when I feel like I should be able to just reorganize how the calendars appear on the main calendar. Please make it so that I can reorder the calendar overlays once added, without having to delete all of my information and starting over. This would be such a wonderful small addition for someone like me that manages many calendars for many groups (read: sites) within SharePoint!!

Our team has been using Sharepoint for years. Recently, we decided to move to 365 Platform as it has better user interface:
Having said that we were disappointed to see that Sharepoint 365 does not show html pages, instead it opens up the html in a text editor.
And if we wish to share the link as a read only, then the link will download a html file (on each time when the link is clicked). Really annoying !!!9 votes
I am trying to get my company to use SharePoint instead of DropBox and Google drive. I am able to map a drive letter to a SharePoint Document folder on a Windows computer. I can't do this on our Macs. We have many Macs running Office 2016. The Document Connector that was in the previous version of office has been removed. Can you please bring this program back, or give me a way to connect to the document folder on SharePoint.9 votes
We have a few SharePoint 2016 sites that we would like to have migrated to Office365 but I'm not able to find an easy way to do this. I tried to save list as template to get some of the content there but the data didn't import correctly. There needs to be a way to migrate SharePoint 2016 to O365 fully.8 votes
Thank you for providing feedback. We do have in the plans to bring support for SharePoint 2016 as a source in the SharePoint Migration tool. While we can’t commit to a timeline right now we are working on enabling the SharePoint 2010 first then move on to 2016 based on current feedback.
Possibility to successfully add the new Site Page content type to a custom Wiki or Document library and improve functionality.
I love the layout of the new Site Page content type, with end-user friendly editing options, super easy and intuitive document and video embedding options and easier than ever picture inserting. It is perfect solution for when end-users (even not power users) have to author wiki pages in a SharePoint site. When inserting a picture, you do not need to choose in which library it will be uploaded and you don't have to fill any meta-data. The same with attaching documents. Even more - Office documents get automatically embedded in the page. Now you can have some text and embedded PowerPoint presentation together and ANY end-user is able to do this in just few moments.
HOWEVER, this functionality is ONLY available when clicking on gear and choosing to "Add a new page". When going directly to Site Pages or having a web-part of Site Pages and clicking on New, you still get the old site page edit layout.
Furthermore, when trying to add Site Page to custom document library or Wiki library (in SP Designed) and then trying to create a new page, it gets saved in Site Page library. No matter what. Tried copying site page from Site Pages library to custom document library with the same content type added, result was that the page was copied, but when opening it, it was empty. Tried creating a new site content type inheriting from Site Page, that did not help. Tried to fool SharePoint in all ways I could think off. Not possible.
In the end, we will not use this new site page layout, because we do not need end-users creating new pages in Site Page library, because they are not able to find them afterwards, we can not provide separate libraries for each department, team or project. Therefore we can not use specific library permissions, target audiences, and so on.
It looks and feels nice, but everything around this new update makes it useless. If this would be fixed, it would one of the best things for end-user experience.
Other things not working good:
* after saving the page does not show the title.
*It is not possible to view the canvas column in a list view, like it is possible to do with Wiki content column of Wiki page.
