  1. Fix Inaccuracies in SummaryReport generated from SPMTMigration Powershell cmdlet

    The SummaryReport CSV generated from a PowerShell SharePoint Migration Tool (SPMT, SPMTMigration), is not showing accurate information for one of the tasks at the end of a multi-task migration run; the task shows that it is still in progress, but the migration finished successfully.

    Checking the task reports in the folder, everything is in order; the migration completed successfully; all files/folders have migrated to SharePoint online, and there are no issues, as well as no FailureReports in any of the report folders.

    For more details, see my post on Q&A here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/172930/inaccuracies-in-summaryreport-generated-from-spmtm.html

    Thanks!

  3. SMAT tool SPD reports

    The SMAT tool reports all the SPD 2010 workflows that are added to library via content types. The document content type by default lists 3 workflows and these 3 workflows are reported in spite of not being configured on the library. This adds up to the number of workflows reported and it doesn't give us deep dive information of whether they are enabled on the library. This poses a big challenge in terms of understanding what workflows needs to be really transformed to power automate. Rater, we would like to focus only on those workflows which are in use and…

  5. Filter out files and folders based on their name

    The migration settings of SPMT must have an option to filter out files and folders having specific name or starting with certain string.

    For example -

    1. We want to filter out "$RECYCLE.BIN" folder while migrating home drives to OneDrive for Business.

    2. Sometimes, the Office applications, such as Word, Excel etc, create temporary hidden files which start with the characters "~$", which we want to filter out in the SPMT migration settings.

  6. simultaneous migrations

    Change the amount of simultaneous migrations currently this is set to 5 but it would be nice if we can set this our self. this doesn't have to be an infinite number but for example 1-20 so that if we got fast hardware/bandwidth we can migrate more and for slower older stuff lower it.

  7. Remove access/Run scripts

    Ability to remove access to the old location or run custom scripts after each migration job. We currently have an issue where we migrate a user to OneDrive but the Recent Links still point to the old file path.

    It would be great if we could have something that either blocks access to the user once the migration is done or the ability to run a script so we can automate process after a migration.

  9. Error 0x01110014 copying list items from SP2013 to SP Online

    I am using SPMT ver 3.4.119.7. I receive the error code above with the message "Scan File Failure:The item's content type was not found in the initial scan" in the Failure summary report. I am copying a list with the single content type "Item". In the past, I have been able to copy items from the list using ShareGate.

  11. SPMT

    Any recommendation from Microsoft in terms of the port needs to be open for SPMT in the VM where the too being installed. This is to access/brows our on-premise application from SPMT tool, any specific firewall rule needs to be incorporated.

  13. There should be an option to reduce the URL from Https://contoso.sharepoint.com/layout... to share.point/contoso

    There should be an option to reduce the URL from Https://contoso.sharepoint.com/layout... to share.point/contoso
    The otherone is useless and since there are not public ip addresses for SP each site to link a domain i see this as an alternative.

  15. It would be nice if I could upload files in a folder that was shared with me by other person, since I have write permission in that folder.

    Once I have write permission in a some else folder, I think SPMT could permit do migrate files to it.

  16. Column mapping

    Ability to create custom column mapping. For example, if I've already created the structure of list in destination, I'd like to map source columns to destination with the ability to change data type.
    Main problem encountered - migration of external data. It's not supported at all. SPMT creates columns that are used for external data in source, but it doesn't migrate the content, doesn't make them usable. So instead, custom column mapping could fix this issue - if SPMT doesn't overwrite my custom columns.

  17. JSON SourcePath: Syntax (Forward-slash instead of Back-slash)

    When composing a JSON "SourcePath:" entry that targeted a mapped drive, I found that it required a Forward-slash instead of a Back-slash. The instructions show the use of a Back-slash but that failed for me.

    This is an example of what worked...

    "Tasks": [

    {

    "SourcePath": "M://BOD",

    Published instructions:

  18. Provide a trusted white list of trusted cross domain url's for iFrame embedding of SharePoint Online content

    We have many on prem sites who's content we embed in other on prem sites. Even with embed content from other sources it seems that On Prem SP2013 is more forgiving. I guess this is a security thing. We are breaking many of our pages with embedded SharePoint content as we migrate that embed content to SharePoint Online. Seems a reasonable tenant level setting would be to provide a list of trusted cross domain URL's, In our case it would be the on-prem parent site with the embed), for iframing and adjust x-Frame Options header accordingly.

  19. Insufficient Guidance

    I went through the hybrid process but it didn't work, or only partially worked. My on prem 2016 environment is messed up and I am not sure, and can't find any information, on how to fix it. I need to reverse/undo whatever changes were made but I can't find anything about how to do that when it appears that only some of the changes were implemented. This is frustrating. I fear I may need to start from scratch!

  20. 'Report' Content type does not supported

    I'm migrating 2010 on-premises content to SharePoint online version. A document library with having 'Report' content type, is not in the list of source content when migrating. Please add that content type in there.
