  1. simultaneous migrations

    Change the amount of simultaneous migrations currently this is set to 5 but it would be nice if we can set this our self. this doesn't have to be an infinite number but for example 1-20 so that if we got fast hardware/bandwidth we can migrate more and for slower older stuff lower it.

  2. Remove access/Run scripts

    Ability to remove access to the old location or run custom scripts after each migration job. We currently have an issue where we migrate a user to OneDrive but the Recent Links still point to the old file path.

    It would be great if we could have something that either blocks access to the user once the migration is done or the ability to run a script so we can automate process after a migration.

  4. Error 0x01110014 copying list items from SP2013 to SP Online

    I am using SPMT ver 3.4.119.7. I receive the error code above with the message "Scan File Failure:The item's content type was not found in the initial scan" in the Failure summary report. I am copying a list with the single content type "Item". In the past, I have been able to copy items from the list using ShareGate.

  7. Improve responsiveness of file share to sharepoint migration

    I have been migrating a few 10's of Gbytes from on-premise file shares to cloud and find that the migration is so efficient, it saturates my network connection, causing problems for my users.

    When I paused the task after 60 minutes to allow users to do their work, although the file system scanner paused, the package upload didn't, so the tool continued saturating my bandwidth for an additional 75 minutes.

    It would be helpful if the migration tool had some throttling settings to avoid this situation, and if the pause could also affect the package uploader.

  9. For Migration agents, offer opportunity to pool agents logically and select specific pools to control bandwidth usage and data flow.

    SPMT agents, specifically for local fileshare to OneDrive, is limited in that you define X agents, they are selected automatically. Adding a feature to either specify the agent pool to use, or limit it by domain. Use case: Multinational company doing migrations both in EMEA and Americas end up with agents in EMEA migrating AM users, which is essentially two ocean hops for the data.

  10. SPMT

    Any recommendation from Microsoft in terms of the port needs to be open for SPMT in the VM where the too being installed. This is to access/brows our on-premise application from SPMT tool, any specific firewall rule needs to be incorporated.

  11. Upload/sync files from local to SharePoint Online subfolders via Powershell

    There should be an possibility in the Powershell module, to upload or sync local files to an defined subfolder in an SharePoint Online site or document library.

  12. There should be an option to reduce the URL from Https://contoso.sharepoint.com/layout... to share.point/contoso

    There should be an option to reduce the URL from Https://contoso.sharepoint.com/layout... to share.point/contoso
    The otherone is useless and since there are not public ip addresses for SP each site to link a domain i see this as an alternative.

  15. SPMT : add support for SharePoint 2019

    SPMT has been extend to SharePoint 2016, it will be be nice to also extend to SharePoint 2019.
    I have already vote for the both direction idea, but the on premise to cloud direction should be easier implement.

  16. SPMT - NTFS Owner should map to Sharepoint Owner

    When migrating from file share to Sharepoint with SPMT the "Modified By" and "Created By" fields are always set to "System Account" and the Owner defaults to the Owner of the Site.

    The information of who originally made the file/folder, which is usually the NTFS "Owner", gets lost in transition.

    I propose that the NTFS "Owner" should be mappable to an Azure AD user which populates the "Created By" field, optionally the "Modified By" field, as well as the Sharepoint Owner of the corresponding file/folder.

    Additionally, when viewing a Sharepoint folder in Windows Explorer via. the OneDrive client, "Modified By"…

  17. It would be nice if I could upload files in a folder that was shared with me by other person, since I have write permission in that folder.

    Once I have write permission in a some else folder, I think SPMT could permit do migrate files to it.

  18. Column mapping

    Ability to create custom column mapping. For example, if I've already created the structure of list in destination, I'd like to map source columns to destination with the ability to change data type.
    Main problem encountered - migration of external data. It's not supported at all. SPMT creates columns that are used for external data in source, but it doesn't migrate the content, doesn't make them usable. So instead, custom column mapping could fix this issue - if SPMT doesn't overwrite my custom columns.

  19. JSON SourcePath: Syntax (Forward-slash instead of Back-slash)

    When composing a JSON "SourcePath:" entry that targeted a mapped drive, I found that it required a Forward-slash instead of a Back-slash. The instructions show the use of a Back-slash but that failed for me.

    This is an example of what worked...

    "Tasks": [

    {

    "SourcePath": "M://BOD",

    Published instructions:

  20. Provide a trusted white list of trusted cross domain url's for iFrame embedding of SharePoint Online content

    We have many on prem sites who's content we embed in other on prem sites. Even with embed content from other sources it seems that On Prem SP2013 is more forgiving. I guess this is a security thing. We are breaking many of our pages with embedded SharePoint content as we migrate that embed content to SharePoint Online. Seems a reasonable tenant level setting would be to provide a list of trusted cross domain URL's, In our case it would be the on-prem parent site with the embed), for iframing and adjust x-Frame Options header accordingly.
