make use of SPField.Customization to enhance the use of the Taxonomy Field in Content Types
SspId, TermsetId and AnchorId are saved as custom properties within the TaxonomyField. The SPFieldLink allows to override some of the properties of a field when used in a content type (e.g. make a field required based on a content type)
If during the merge process of SPFieldLink and SPField you set SPField.Customization as an element not an attribute of the field, it would be possible to modifiy the Taxonomy custom properties per content type.
Since the Customization Property can be publicly set via powershell, this is a very flexible scenario.
Imagine having a hierarchical termset, where the base parent term…2 votes -
Sync SP Shared calendar with ms365 / OWA
Our law enforcement agency consists of over 1400 users. Probably 90% of those users use OWA .. no licenses for the client. We also have many units that use SP and have a shared calendar on the SP site. Supervisors would like to be able to see this shared calendar in OWA. At this time the calendar can only be shared in the outlook client.

One
It's frustrating that i can´t store more than 20,000 files in onedrive. the restriction is ridiculous and lookes like that the terabytes of Space is not more as a publicity stunt. Ist that necessary for MS? We have in the Moment nearly 50 units of "365 E4" Accounts. I can´t accept this Situation.

An Integrated Web Based Report Builder
If a SharePoint Power User/ Champion user would want to know metrics and growth about a site without the need to purchase third party apps. The Report Builder can by used from SP Site Administrator to SP Site Power User to query where site column exists in which library or list. Or else maybe there is a need to find a list of the files that exists in a SharePoint site, maybe break it down to what are checked out files. Any query defined in the Report Builder can be exported to various file formats for future reference. A similar…

Migration path / Integration: Office Group to Teamsite
With introduction of Office 365 groups - which are very nice as starting point - please consider to provide an migration path / integration in Teamsite (OnPrem and SharePoint Online)
7 votesWhile our integration with Microsoft Teams and Groups in the SharePoint Migration tool is not fully complete. You Should be able to point the tool to Any existing Teams or Group connected team site to migrate content into it. I would love to understand more what are the specific parts you would like to see in the tool

Provide Hybrid capabilities for User Profile and MMS
While Search with hybrid SSA is getting to a prett neat hybrid story, for UPS and MMS there has been (besides maybe the PnP Metadata synch workaround) no attempts to provide a proper hybrid story. Please work on that if you really want to have a well understood and implemented hybrid story as a differentiating factor compared to other providers

Make one eDiscovery center work across O365 and On-Premise
With the new Hybrid search options it would be nice if we could make one eDiscovery center that will cover both on-prem SharePoint and O365 and be able to do holds.

UX change in Suite Bar for SharePoint 2016
I noticed that the Suite Bar in Office 365 and in SP2016 doesn't display the user in the top right the same way. SP2016 displays the name where Office 365 shows the picture.
Would be better to do the same as Office 365 in SP2016 no? Better UX when in Hybrid.5 votes -
Share point - Interactive Dashboard
Most of IT the projects team stores lot of information related to status, metric and various action in share point. They will use third party tools or create various home grown tools to create the Dashboard views(ex tableau).. If BI data view options of Dashboard is created. Share point will be come an awesome tool.

App Launcher on prem
Bring the App launcher ribbon form O365 to on Prem and allow use to administer what icons/links appear form central admin.
This would allow the use of SharePoint as a landing page company wide with links to all corporate applications on SharePoint and external.

Hybrid Office Web Apps
We currently have to maintain on-prem OWA server(s) to handle on-prem document previews (even in new Hybrid search), and of course in-browser document editing/viewing. This experience will undoubtedly become fragmented from Office Online as MS adds features to the cloud platform.
I would really like to leverage the Office 365 Online apps to preview/view/edit documents hosted on-prem. This is really the last piece of the hybrid puzzle for us.

Yammer on-prem
I hear that MS is committed to moving o365 functionality to the on-prem version yet nothing is ever mentioned about social. We've had to implement a 3rd party social platform because a decent one is not provided out of the box.

Create new and updated protocol documentation
Having solid documentation allows for detailed understand and self troubleshooting.
The protocol documents that were done for SharePoint 2010 should be repeated for SharePoint 2016.

better hybrid experiance
Search integration should be seamless between O365 and local installation. A method for combining navigation would also be a plus. With search integration I'd like to see a better hybrid discovery story similar to what we get with exchange. Even better if I can add a 2016 server and great a hybrid endpoint without uplifting 2010/2013 farms even a bigger plus.

Outlook Integration of Tasks
The default emails that are sent for an approval workflow are broken. The idea is that users can click on the "Open this Task" button directly within Outlook. But this button is broken (since 2010?)
Beside that there is no such button when using Outlook Web Access. Therefore there is no way direktly hup into the according task to edit this approval workflow.
This issue should be fixed and the email itself should contain a link to approve or reject this wf directly.

Lower the permission requirements to view Site Usage Reports
At present, you need Full Control to view Site Usage Reports. This seems unnecessary to view what is an on-demand obfuscated report. It should be a case of granting someone ‘View Web Analytics Data - View reports on Web site usage’ permission rather than resorting to Full Control just so a VIP can see how his site is used.
