SharePoint Online service administrators should also be allowed to run the SharePoint Hybrid picker, not just the O365 global admin
In large IT organizations, especially organizations that already use Office 365 applications, often the O365 global admin is a different team or admin than the SharePoint Online team or admin. The SharePoint Online admin team who would have the SharePoint Online service administrator role, but not necessary the entire O365 tenant global admin role, should be able to run the SharePoint Online Hybrid picker as well as the O365 global admin.

Add Popularity Trend Reports support for SharePoint Hybrid / SPO
As described here: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/ronalg/2016/11/21/hybrid-search-and-search-popularity-trend-reports/ Popularity Trend Reports are not available in hybrid scenarios as "the view events are not passed on to the search farm that is in the cloud". Include this functionality or provide an alternative in a future release

Crawled properties from on-premises farms
Crawled properties from on-premises farms should be added to O365 in Hybrid search (cloud index) scenario.

Regarding file downloading
I wish a specific user not to download file. My users recognize that if we set the right only to read file, we are able to download the text file, PDF, and pictures although I find the file not downloadable. Nevertheless, the folder itself can be downloaded even if I have Office files within the folder. That makes my users mistake all the files within the folder for downloadable ones despite the fact that the Office files fail and that we can't view the file. I request that in case I set the right only to read, I am unable…

Provide capability to leverage one content type hub and managed metadata term store in hybrid scenario (or at least sync)
Being able to source taxonomies from SharePoint online and utilize them in a hybrid SharePoint 2016 on-premises situation would aid in consistency across content types, site columns, search (managed properties), etc.
If it is impossible to consume a SharePoint Online content type hub on-premises, at least provide the possibility of syncing.

Reduce the number (hundreds) of times that a login and password need to be entered
Why do I spend more time entering my email address and password than accessing the many different files and actually doing some work!

Sync SP Shared calendar with ms365 / OWA
Our law enforcement agency consists of over 1400 users. Probably 90% of those users use OWA .. no licenses for the client. We also have many units that use SP and have a shared calendar on the SP site. Supervisors would like to be able to see this shared calendar in OWA. At this time the calendar can only be shared in the outlook client.

SPMT Tool allows any user to create sites
We have recently found that any user can create a new SharePoint site collection using the SPMT tool. It doesn't seem to reference any of our tenant settings. We have a strict governance process and have disabled self-service site creation so that only the SP Admin role can create sites, however the SPMT does not respect any of these tenant level settings. I have logged a ticket with support but they are saying this is expected behaviour. So we would like to see SPMT require SP Admin role permissions to create a new site.

Improve responsiveness of file share to sharepoint migration
I have been migrating a few 10's of Gbytes from on-premise file shares to cloud and find that the migration is so efficient, it saturates my network connection, causing problems for my users.
When I paused the task after 60 minutes to allow users to do their work, although the file system scanner paused, the package upload didn't, so the tool continued saturating my bandwidth for an additional 75 minutes.
It would be helpful if the migration tool had some throttling settings to avoid this situation, and if the pause could also affect the package uploader.

For Migration agents, offer opportunity to pool agents logically and select specific pools to control bandwidth usage and data flow.
SPMT agents, specifically for local fileshare to OneDrive, is limited in that you define X agents, they are selected automatically. Adding a feature to either specify the agent pool to use, or limit it by domain. Use case: Multinational company doing migrations both in EMEA and Americas end up with agents in EMEA migrating AM users, which is essentially two ocean hops for the data.

Preserve "date modified" for folders when using SharePoint Migration Tool (to migrate File Shares to OneDrive)
For files, timestamps are preserved but not for folders.

SPMT : add support for SharePoint 2019
SPMT has been extend to SharePoint 2016, it will be be nice to also extend to SharePoint 2019.
I have already vote for the both direction idea, but the on premise to cloud direction should be easier implement.2 votes -
SPMT - NTFS Owner should map to Sharepoint Owner
When migrating from file share to Sharepoint with SPMT the "Modified By" and "Created By" fields are always set to "System Account" and the Owner defaults to the Owner of the Site.
The information of who originally made the file/folder, which is usually the NTFS "Owner", gets lost in transition.
I propose that the NTFS "Owner" should be mappable to an Azure AD user which populates the "Created By" field, optionally the "Modified By" field, as well as the Sharepoint Owner of the corresponding file/folder.
Additionally, when viewing a Sharepoint folder in Windows Explorer via. the OneDrive client, "Modified By"…

SPMT tool is not retaining folder permission sharepoint online post migration.
SPMT tool is not retaining folder permission in sharepoint online post migration. A User/users added with FULL permission on local folder when synced to sharepoint online it does not retain the permission. User/Users with Modify permission and R/W permission are getting retained as is in sharepoint online. Please look in to this issue.

Map the default groups in SharePoint
Map the default groups in SharePoint
Right now you can map AD users/groups manually through a CSV but it doesn't apply to SharePoint groups.
The problem comes with default groups when migrating to a site collection already created at the destination. At the end of the migration, 6 default groups are available: the 3 source groups and the 3 destination groups.
The problem is even greater if we want to keep the permissions since the tool breaks inheritance in all the lists/libraries due to
The source Visitors group is different from the destination Visitors group
The source group of Members…2 votes -
Sharepoint Migration Manager (Preview) - Add option to Schedule a start time
I know it's in preview, but if you could add the option to Schedule a start time from within Migration Manager like Exchange Migration that would be awesome and help with throttling as we could configure a Out of Hours Start time!

Allow a user using the SPMT tool to select what site template to use when creating a new site.
Currently when SPMT creates a new site it only does a Modern site no groups. It would be beneficial to have the tool give an option of what site you would like to create. Example sometimes I might want a communication site. In order to do this today I have to first create the site in SPO then use the SPMT tool to set that as my destination. It might be good to have a few choices to pick from or let the user build a site template mapping file.

Remote Blob Storage in Azure Storage Account (BLOB) storage For SP2016/2019/O365
Basically create an add-in / configuration element in CA in 2016 / 2019 that enables a Farm Administrator to select a single or multiple Azure Storage Account blobs to operate as Remote Blob Storage, and conversely support this ability in O365. Then for migration you would leverage the migration tool to migrate list data and metadata for documents - but just reference documents in azure storage -- for lots of my customers that would greatly simplify migration - you could create multiple blob storage accounts which could all be loaded independently - or we could figure out a way to…
