Support SharePoint Online to SharePoint Online Migrations in the SharePoint Migration Tool
A very useful addition to the SharePoint Migration Tool from Microsoft would be support for SharePoint Online to SharePoint Online migrations. There are many scenarios where this is commonly needed for some customers who must restructure or realign and be able to migrate from one area of SharePoint Online to another. Just in general as well this would be a handy option to have.
Could this please be considered as a future improvement to the SharePoint Migration Tool including support with bulk migrations for SharePoint Online as a source. Thanks.

Thank you for bringing this suggestion to our attention. While the SharePoint migration investments have been focused on helping the on-prem customer transition to OneDrive and SharePoint in Office 365 using the SharePoint migration tool, we acknowledge that there are additional scenarios like the ones explained in this suggestion that are not covered yet. We are currently considering various options to solve those scenarios, but we cannot commit to anything at this point. Please continue bringing great suggestions to our attention like this one.

The inability to rename a site in Sharepoint Online has forced us to have a date-based naming convention. On the one hand it resolves the issue of not having to migrate sites when their names inevitably change; on the other it makes finding a site to save a file to an impossible task. The ability to easily migrate SPO -> SPO would resolve this issue and allow us to give our sites human-readable names.

Additionally support File metadata will be helpful

The ability to exclude certain folders from the Migration would be good.

Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestments is another reason for this. Upon a merger, we would want to bring in SharePoint content and decommission the other tenant. Upon a divestment we would want to ship out SharePoint content to a new tenant to leave with the divested company.

And else you are stuck on third party tools like ShareGate or Metalogix.

This is so over-due. Moving anything in SharePoint is a nightmare. You often need to restructure a site and can't move anything other than third party tools or in windows explorer which is so slow and tedious

It would be nice to have a service/ tool, which would allow us to move sites, libraries, etc. between tenants. This way, we could have a test tenant for testing and populate content to our main prod tenant or move content between a tenant in Europe and Asia.
