  1. Migration Manager - Move data vs Copy data

Please add a setting to remove the source data after it successfully copies to the destination - effectively a "move" operation instead of a "copy" operation.

  2. Sharepoint Migration Manager (Preview) - Add option to Schedule a start time

I know it's in preview, but if you could add the option to Schedule a start time from within Migration Manager like Exchange Migration that would be awesome and help with throttling as we could configure a Out of Hours Start time!

    ■Description(内容):

When I migrate files by uploading or drag and drop from on-premise file server onto SharePoint Online, I want to check if the file has been moved successfully without any damages, so please implement such a feature.

  4. SharePoint Migration Tool should support migrating to O365 Team Sites

Currently it gives an "Access denied" error, but it doesn't really make any sense why O365 Team Sites would not be supported as a destination. There are many scenarios where this is commonly needed for some customers who have Sharepoint sites setup as O365 Team Sites and not as an SPO Site Collection. Just in general as well this would be a handy option to have.

Please consider this as a future improvement to the SPMT. Thanks

  5. SPMT should have a silent, scriptable installation process

The SharePoint Migration Tool should have a well documented, silent and scriptable installation process. The GUI portions of this product have interest to me, and yet, I'm stuck with 3 or four clicks to get it installed just so I can automate data migrations.

    Maybe a Nuget Package? Chocolatey?

  7. SharePoint Online service administrators should also be allowed to run the SharePoint Hybrid picker, not just the O365 global admin

In large IT organizations, especially organizations that already use Office 365 applications, often the O365 global admin is a different team or admin than the SharePoint Online team or admin. The SharePoint Online admin team who would have the SharePoint Online service administrator role, but not necessary the entire O365 tenant global admin role, should be able to run the SharePoint Online Hybrid picker as well as the O365 global admin.

  8. Edit/View MS Project (.MPP) files from Office 365 SharePoint Online

After Migration we are unable to open MS Project files (.MPP) from Office 365 Sharepoint online. Please fix this. There are some suggestions online on how to fix it but best would be if this was native within SharePoint Online

  9. Add Popularity Trend Reports support for SharePoint Hybrid / SPO

As described here: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/ronalg/2016/11/21/hybrid-search-and-search-popularity-trend-reports/ Popularity Trend Reports are not available in hybrid scenarios as "the view events are not passed on to the search farm that is in the cloud". Include this functionality or provide an alternative in a future release

  10. Crawled properties from on-premises farms

Crawled properties from on-premises farms should be added to O365 in Hybrid search (cloud index) scenario.

  11. Regarding file downloading

I wish a specific user not to download file. My users recognize that if we set the right only to read file, we are able to download the text file, PDF, and pictures although I find the file not downloadable. Nevertheless, the folder itself can be downloaded even if I have Office files within the folder. That makes my users mistake all the files within the folder for downloadable ones despite the fact that the Office files fail and that we can't view the file. I request that in case I set the right only to read, I am unable…

  12. Provide capability to leverage one content type hub and managed metadata term store in hybrid scenario (or at least sync)

Being able to source taxonomies from SharePoint online and utilize them in a hybrid SharePoint 2016 on-premises situation would aid in consistency across content types, site columns, search (managed properties), etc.

If it is impossible to consume a SharePoint Online content type hub on-premises, at least provide the possibility of syncing.

  13. Reduce the number (hundreds) of times that a login and password need to be entered

Why do I spend more time entering my email address and password than accessing the many different files and actually doing some work!

  14. Sync SP Shared calendar with ms365 / OWA

Our law enforcement agency consists of over 1400 users. Probably 90% of those users use OWA .. no licenses for the client. We also have many units that use SP and have a shared calendar on the SP site. Supervisors would like to be able to see this shared calendar in OWA. At this time the calendar can only be shared in the outlook client.

  15. Copy a Library doesn't have option "Replace All"

When you copy a library from one site to another, you don't have an option to "Replace All".

This negates the ability to run incremental changes from one site to another.

I have 2 sites, "site A" is for upload and "site B" site is the live/pilot site. This approach is so I can re-arrange the content from an on-site fileshare to Office 365.

I am aware that if I conduct a move instead of a copy the "Replace All" option is available. This isn't useful though, because moving the files means that any on-site changes would require a full…

  16. Migration Manager fails to upload a fileshare folder, only contents of the folder

Migration Manager should operate the same as SPMT.

If you use SPMT to upload a fileshare (eg \server\shares\administration) to a "library A", the result will be a folder called administration in the library.

If you use exactly the same definition in Migration Manager only the contents of administration will be migrated, not the folder itself.

This shortcoming, makes it very difficult to re-arrange the generally archaic fileshare structure into a more intuitive structure in SharePoint.

Microsoft answer is "well use SPMT". This is not a suitable answer because Migration Manager provides a more central view of your migration project, and…

  17. Sharepoint Migration tool folder exclusion

    Hi,

it would be great if you could add a parameter, wether on the GUI tool or in powershell to exclude certain subfolders from migration from source.

lets say i want to migration c:\IT folder to https://mysharepoint.ms.com/IT , but i do not want to migrate c:\IT\ThisFolder\ because it is full of data i do not need to migrate. I guess it should be super easy to do since there is already file exclusion...

    Thanks

  18. SPMT Tool allows any user to create sites

We have recently found that any user can create a new SharePoint site collection using the SPMT tool. It doesn't seem to reference any of our tenant settings. We have a strict governance process and have disabled self-service site creation so that only the SP Admin role can create sites, however the SPMT does not respect any of these tenant level settings. I have logged a ticket with support but they are saying this is expected behaviour. So we would like to see SPMT require SP Admin role permissions to create a new site.

  20. Change Migration Manager agent work folder location

I would like to be able to change the work folder location, to another drive than C.
I want to use existing servers as agents, and no one has 150G free on C drive.
