We are having huge trouble to satisfy above 200 users that were used to work with Google feature "Adding comment" to read-only files. Google allows users to add comments to Google docs\Google sheets files without allowing to edit the content. Microsoft does not allow users to add comments to Word\Excel Online files if user doesn't have "Edit" permission. Couple of weeks ago we were going live with Office365 files SharePoint\OneDrive and we receive many complaints.
How can we solve it ASAP?
Hello and great work guys!!
Just submitting a dead link notification, I understand the issue that caused this error.
The links under Technical Details don't go anywhere or aren't actual links and it's just clever CSS.
1) Learn more about the syntax for formulas.
2) Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation.

The issue with the sharepoint site is that when the site is exported to excel and changes are made the end user when refreshing the page is getting a prompt to enter credentials. This seems to be by design and would like a way for the end user not to get an authentication prompt.1 vote

Allow the design the same Bare Shape on SharePoint Online as is Bare Sahape on Ganttogram in Microsoft Project
When I synhronise the project from MS Project to SharePoint Project site/Tasks I received Just one Bar shape possibilities in Ganttogram to see on SP. I would be good to have more possibilities to see bar shapes on SP1 vote
It should be possible to have a field that displays the link of a document. This should be added through an existing lookup for example. Users often need a direct link to a document when they want to send something around or post it somewhere. Getting the link is quite cumbersome and well hidden today.1 vote
Bring together information from (multiple) on premise farms with Office 365 like:
- follow person
- follow site to show site in Sites tile
- follow tag
- follow document
- follow site
- include Newsfeed conversations (like, reply, mentions) in Office Graph
- include SP201x Blog (like, comments) in Office Graph
- include SP201x Community Site content (like, reply, mentions) in Office Graph1 vote

From what I see the SharePoint Migration Tool doesn't allow to do a report on existing sources before migrating. The relevant reports should be placed on all support data sources including file share and SharePoint 2013.
What we important for the report to return:
- List of files and folders and all related permissions
- Total volume of information and if possible volume of information per folder/file
- Existence of duplicate files (nice to have)
This would be identical to what other solutions already do (Sharegate, Quest, etc)
- Don't see your idea?
