  1. A Total Revamp for Wikis

Could we please have the ability to create Wikis in SharePoint that look like TechNet or Wikipedia? Please try to make things more simple. Do not over complicate it again.

    • Title Banner on Modern Pages

Please provide the capability to change the header of the new modern pages (i.e. the large banner graphic on which the title is sitting. It currently means page content starts half-way down the screen which isn't the best use of space.

      • Add a decent photowebpart

Add a photowebpart that shows the content of a picture library in thumbnails. when you click a thumbnail, a popup will appear with the photo in a "normal size" (as available in _w hidden folder) and than you can browse the photos with next/previous buttons, with an option To show the picture in original size.

        • Support Themable CSS Without Having To Customize The Master Page

For light-touch customisations, we simply want to use SharePoint Themes and also add our own Themable CSS to sites.

Unfortunately the only way to add a Themable CSS to a site is add a CssRegistration control to the Master Page referencing the Themable CSS file. We want to avoid having to customise the master page simply to add a Themable CSS link.

It is contrary to current Microsoft guidance to modify the master page unnecessarily, and in doing so, in the best case we lock ourselves out of any future enhancements as SharePoint evolves that are dependent upon an upgraded…

          • drag and drop images in wiki pages and blogs

other CMS systems already allow this functionality. Instead of having to save an image somewhere and then upload it to SharePoint, let me just drag / drop images on the wiki and blog pages. Would be ideal for screenshots

            • Add a "Load JavaScript" link to master page settings page

Just as with the custom CSS link, it would be great to be able to add a custom JavaScript file to be loaded on every page in the Web/Site Collection. Currently I do this by adding a single line of code to a custom master page like this:
              <!-- Scripts-->
              <script type="text/javascript" data-main="/sites/CDB/_catalogs/masterpage/_ProjectName/js/ApplicationLoader.js" src=https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/require.js/2.1.19/require.min.js></script>

Given the guidance around not customizing master pages, thjis new setting would take care of things.

Note that it would also get us around an error that is thrown in SuiteExtensions.js if RequireJS is loaded. SharePoint Online loads an older version of RequireJS in…

              • Allow improving page loads

We tried to enable the page output cache on our Intranet (O365) but didn't not get any performance improvement. We enabled the debug and noticed the following message “8 Output cache not used. Reason: User can view an unpublished version of the current page”. We would like to be able to set the CacheForEditRights settings, but this is disabled through web.config settings. The link to the Cache Profiles list is also hidden online, but we were able to create a new profile anyway with this set (Allow writers to view cached content).

Since there's already a check if the page…

                • #Hashtags & @Mentions in blogs

Blog pages/posts should allow 'Hashtags and @mentions but they currently dont.

The rest of SharePoint social (micro blogging converstations, forum comments etc) make use of this. so it is beyond strange that if you comment on a blog you cant mention someone to make them aware etc

When I use links in the quick links and I link out to a site it doesn't autoload a little preview image like sharing a link in Yammer or Facebook.

                    • Add Page Image and Rollup Image to columns that can have default values set

Within: Pages > Document Library Setting > Column default value settings. Add the ability to set a default image for the Page Image and Rollup Image columns.
We are trying to make it easy for users to quickly create a new page, but we require these fields to be populated so they get displayed correctly in Content by Search web parts. Everytime someone creates a new page they have to manually populate these image fields. It would be great if we could default them to some generic image and if they wanted to they could change them

                      • Connect Cross Site Publishing for Catalog

We have configured Cross Site Publishing for Catalog but we got error, so we opened support ticket# 116110714900323 and team recommended to update in this blog as we have not followed prerequisite, but as a end user we can not configure all at single shot.

So now the issue is when we connect to catalog we get as "Value cannot be null. Parameter name:g", this unable to resolve and now support telling that we have to configure it correctly as indicated here https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Connect-and-disconnect-a-publishing-site-to-a-catalog-in-SharePoint-df2bdea4-ceb0-459a-91d2-a47a1d807d71?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US which we were not aware.
Now MS support updated that they could reproduce the issue from there…

                        • Add built-in site and page redirection and support for friendly URLs

Many are forced to use other products to get this functionality. Renaming/restructuring content is very troublesome without this ability.

                            • I highly suggest showing the options by default for sending an invitation to new users that you give permission to.

Under site settings or a library settings permissions when adding a new user or group, the option is hidden and checked by default to send an invitation. I suggest showing that by default. It is too easy to send an email to a bunch of users when setting up a new site or app.

                              • Upgrade the Newsfeed/Yammer functionality to enable following of things like pages & doc libraries

The Newsfeed/Yammer integration is a great thing. But it's not perfect. Obvious things like being able to follow pages (and get notifications when somebody updates them) and follow entire document libraries (notification when a new doc is added) are missing. That needs to be fixed!

                                  • IMPROVE Edit Page - use the user experience found in the PowerBI Preview

The PowerBI preview allows a user to drag reports anywhere on the page when creating a dashboard, without the complexities of Edit Page or understanding Webpart zones.. This same experience would be a significant improvement for all SharePoint pages. Please let's get SharePoint out of the 20th century!

                                    • Pls create zones in the toolbox on modern pages to discern between the oob responsive webparts and the legacy add-ins (app parts) introduced

You just introduced the ability on modern pages to show add-ins and app parts. Ok, great thing so far, but pls put a kind of delimitier in the toolbox of the modern pages between the oob responsive new modern webparts and the "legacy" add-ins (app parts). Without such delimiter (be it a line or anything) it is really not easily discernable for the users creating content on a page which webpart will be responsive oob and which may be a problem on small devices. To really get the mobile first strategy going, you need to make sure it is easy…

                                      • Enable facebook embed code for new SharePoint Online Pages

In the new Pages of SharePoint online, you have the option to add "embed code" but it doesn't accept codes from Facebook or Twitter says:

"Embedding content from this website isn't allowed. This is a setting your admin can change."
Clicking on More Information takes me to this page: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Add-content-to-your-page-using-the-Embed-web-part-13cc66b6-d0c8-4894-85a7-820c20143797?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US

I need it to build the "Home" page of the Intranet so that users can benefit from seeing the social updates by the company.

                                        • Master pages... Time to Say Goodbye

It is time to ditch master pages in SharePoint. Instead a client side templating i.e. dreamweaver like templates or just MVC layouts and views would make SharePoint 1000000 times better. MasterPages served purpose and a still does for "developers" but with SharePoint and SharePoint online, CSS should drive everything.

When I create a team site it should be SharePoint components wrapped in divs. That is it.

                                          It is long overdue
