Enable renaming the SPO tenant domain
Currently the site collection URLs are fixed as https://tenant.sharepoint.com and cannot be changed. This does not fit with flexible cloud-based solutions - business needs will inevitably result in an organisation changing it's name during its lifetime (mergers, acquisitions, rebranding etc). While it may not be possible to change it so that entirely custom domains are used (eg contoso.com, instead of sharepoint.com), it must be possible to allow the sub-domain to be changed (eg. newtenant.sharepoint.com)? Please?
Migrating an entire organisation (likely to include Exchange, Skype, Sharepoint and Onedrive data!!) to a new Tenancy is absolutely not a viable option.

Restore "Sign in as a different user"
This is essential and needs to be easy to find instead of hacking the URL every time you need to sign in as a different user.

See all sharepoint sites
I would like a option to see all sharepoint sites that i have access to.

Thanks for the feedback. It would helpful to know the specific scenarios where users aren’t able to get to the content they need.
We’ve observed that with sites shared publicly, or sites attached to a public Office365 Group, it’s not very meaningful to see every SharePoint Site a user can access, because there could be a huge number, most of which the user isn’t interested in.
Is the focus here more like “show me all sites I’m a member of”?
There is one comment that says search isn’t working, please open a support ticket for that.

Overview of applied content types
Content types are an essential part of SharePoint. One issue that has been around since SharePoint 2007 is the absence of an overview of all applied content types. Why is this important? Try to delete a content type and you get the message it's still in use. Good luck finding out where. This is very frustrating and time consuming. That's why I vote for an overview where you can see where the content types are applied.

A consolidated admin view of where published content types are being used is still being evaluated, but for folks voting for the related use case of “better creation and management of content types” please refer to site designs (aka.ms/spsitedesigns) as a modern mechanism to create/apply content types to site libraries. We are also looking at how this could be more easily supported from hub sites.

Permissions report - inheritance breaks
Allow the owners of the sites to view a report of the security of their site. Start by adding a chart of the inheritance breaks of the whole site in one glance. This will become more and more important since you can use the 'Share' button on a file and break inheritance without understanding what you're doing.

Organize sharepoint sites
I'd like to be able to organize the home page of sites i'm following to put the sites I use the most at the top, and group similar sites --for instance, I have several sites that are related to Human resources work, but I only use them occasionally and would like them to put them in a folder or notebook. Instead, they are all listed separately and I have to scroll through them to get to the ones I use more frequently. If there is already a way to do this, it is NOT apparent on the way my sharepoint…

Change default setting for access requests from "Edit" to "Read"
Since there is no existing way to control the default settings for user access requests, and since the default is currently set to 'Edit,' this creates a situation in which a user who may have never accessed Sharepoint before and simply wants to read a news article must instead be granted editing rights--creating a scenario in which many inexperienced users who are only looking to read or download content have to be given the power to create serious, unintentional damage to a page by being granted editing rights. A much more prudent approach would be to set the default permission…

Clear deleted sharepoint groups from Frequent Sites and Suggested Sites
Please remove deleted sharepoint sites from Frequent Sites and Suggested Sites if they no longer exist. It confuses staff.

Sorting of followed sites
The new layout looks better, but there does not seem to be any way of re-ordering these - not even alphabetically. When you follow a lot of sites as I do, they can be hard to find in an unordered jumble of large tiles.
Please either sort automatically or provide a means for us to sort them!95 votes -

Hide external users from people picker
It should be possible to exclude / hide the external or guests accounts form the people picker in the share forms.
We want to invite customers to some of our sites but we do not want their account to show up when we use the share dialog.
We want to avoid confusion when both an internal resource and a customer have the same name.

Add two new managed paths in SharePoint Online (projects & groups)
Currently the two managed paths (/sites and /teams) are fairly limited and I suggest that you add two more managed paths.
/groups
/projectsHaving these two additional managed paths would allow for more flexibility and a much better information architecture in SharePoint Online

Inhertance breaks - Copy Link
Whenever 'Copy Link' option is hit in SharePoint, it automatically breaks the inheritance for that document/folder. This makes it very hard to manage the site permissions and result in tons of items where inheritance is broken.
It would be great, if it doesn't break inheritance unless someone who doesn't have permissions to the site tries to access the item.

add the setting of ”Send an email invitation” in case of the setting of right to SharePoint Online site.
In case the checkbox of ”Send an email invitation” is checked at the time of setting the right to SharePoint Online site, there is a possibility that e-mails might be sent to users if unchecking would be neglected. I would say that it is helpful in avoiding some troubles if there could be a setting by default to uncheck the box. Therefore, I hope the setting to be available that could enable for me to uncheck the box.

Allow creation of managed path
On prem, we use web apps and managed path to define our sites structure. I understand that we cannot have webapps online but why can't we create managed path?
I would use it to group sites by type
http://tenant/teams/TeamA
http://tenant/groups/GroupA
http://tenant/services/IT
http://tenant/clients/000000It would help for search and administration.
Thanks.

Remove pending access request without having to decline it
Would like to be able to remove a pending access request without having to decline it. Declining a request today generate an e-mail to the user.
I may for instance want to grant the access in a different way. Like a user request access to a document but I want to grant access to the whole site. I then have to first decline the request and then do another invite. The user will receive two e-mails, one invite and one decline, which is quite confusing.
A simple remove or delete button would be nice. The access requests are basically a…

You may also be interested in
The ability to turn off the new feature for the whole tenancy for, 'You may also be interested in" on SharePoint online.
Currently have to do this by page, for 7 intranets, time consuming and annoying, better to have it off by default and allow users to turn on if they need it. This is creating huge problems for us

Allow modern team site creation without O365 groups
For a brief period we used to be able to create modern team sites not connected to an O365 group. It seems this functionality was taken away and now we are forced to create an O365 group with a new modern team site. There are many instances where an O365 group is not needed.

Give us control or at least visibility of the Content Type Hub Syndication Timer Job in SPO
The syndication of Content Types using the Content Type Hub is a frustrating experience as you cannot tell when the Content Type will actually be available in sites that are connected to the Hub. At present there is no visibility of when the syndication timer will run or a way of forcing / changing the frequency. Once published it could be 15mins, 4 hours or worse before the Content Type appears in the consuming site.
This idea is to give users control or at least visibility of the Content Type Hub Syndication Timer Job in SPO.
