  1. Allow Javascript customization and CSS branding/theming in the new Document Library Experience

Please allow javascript customization and css branding/theming in the new document library experience. A custom cross-site navigation is one example that is used by many customers. Also many customers want their intranet branded in a different color but office ui fabric blue.
JSLink is also used very often. And don't Forget about all the third-party forms solution provider like Nintex and others.
The new experience provides many advantages, but without customizations it is just not usable for larger intranets anymore.

CustomActions that deploy script, JSLinks, and additional web parts on the page are currently not supported in the new experience. Environments that require these unsupported features should continue using classic mode for the time being.

Throughout this year, we will be addressing critical scenario gaps to make the new document library experience support custom processes, commands, and other functionality required for complex, business-critical workflows in complex organizations. Specific capabilities we are investigating building include the ability to host web parts on the page, the ability to define custom view layouts and conditional formatting, and the ability to be visually customized and branded with client-side design pacakages. In the coming weeks we’ll share additional information surrounding these extensibility opportunities across lists and libraries.

    • Remove the list view threshold (5000 by default)

This limit has always been a bit laughable, and is even more so as we develop more client side applications. In SharePoint 2007 we didn't have this limit and were allowed to make our own mistakes. Now that hardware is so much more powerful, we need this limit removed so that we can build enterprise-class applications.

The 5,000 item threshold is likely here to stay. We are aware that it takes awareness on both sides to get past this limitation: list owners have to build the right fields, indices, and indexed views so that end user queries can run successfully in large lists. And then, end users have to run the correct queries – they can’t just open the root of the list, they have to use a filtered, indexed view.

We want to pursue work that helps on both these ends – for example, proactively indexing more lists, making suggestions to list owners for views to create that will help end users, and helping end users at query time pick filters that will unblock their queries. Additionally, we want to increase our support for running more types of queries in large lists when an index is present – for example, instead of requiring an indexed…

      • Open Adobe PDF in client application

Office 365 / SharePoint online needs to support opening PDF documents in SharePoint directly to client application (Adobe Acrobat Pro/DC).

As of this request, technical support has stated the only way to open PDF files in Acrobat is to download/save them.

SharePoint On Premise has supported this feature for some time.

Adobe PDF files are as common and Microsoft Office Suite documents and must be editable directly to/from SharePoint Online without the need to down/save edit, and upload which adds user overhead and lowers productivity.

        • A simple move/copy function between SharePoint Online Document libraries/folders/files

SharePoint Online Document Libraries are missing possibly the two most basic and fundamental functions in the online portal:

          - A move/cut function, which is missing altogether, both for folders and files
          - A copy function, which although technically exists, is really over complicated for a function which has existed in a much simpler form in every document repository technology since the mid-1980s...

Currently, in order to move a file or folder from within the online portal between different libraries or even different folders within the same library...well the function just doesn't exist. So users need to either sync the site…

          • Please let me drag Outlook attachments into SharePoint

Something I find myself wanting to do pretty frequently is storing an email attachment somewhere into SharePoint or OneDrive for Business. I want to simply drag the attachment from Outlook directly into SharePoint or OneDrive in the browser. Alas, I cannot. I am forced to save the attachment somewhere (my Desktop, most likely) then either drag+dropping it into SharePoint/OneDrive or using the upload function in SharePoint/OneDrive to get it uploaded.

It should be easier than that. Microsoft, please consider adding this functionality to get even more user-friendly integration between your suite of products.

                • More than 2 levels of "Group By"

There is a strong need to Group By more than two levels of column data. Example, we use SP to track mosquitos for vector control. I want to Group by Week, Trap Site, Trap Type, Species, Condition, etc... The ability to drill down and see totals for each condition or "Group By" would be fantastic. This leads to the next suggestion, Add Calculated columns to Group By Totals.

I need to be able to check-in or check-out multiple files. I'm not able to do this currently, when selecting multiple documents.

                    • Ability to save a file directly into a library and choose the metadata

There are some ways but they are limited. They don’t work in some situations or from any application. The saving experience to a shared drive is still so much more consistent!
                      - Use a favorite/add network location/map network drive
                      - In Office, we can choose where to save, pin in each application
                      - Save from an email: a message or attachment by saving on the desktop
It would be amazing to be able to:
                      1. Mark all sites (or libraries) where we would want to save (shortcuts)
                      2. Click on save in any application and be able to choose one…

                      • Provide an option to disable the "Share" button.

The Share button breaks inheritance on an item, and without warning to the user. With the default Permission Level of "Edit" in Team Sites, you can quickly have 100's or 1000's of items with unique permissions. Going forward, any permissions granted at the library or site level can create a situation where new users will see all of the content in a library, except for those with unique permissions.

I would like to be able to disable (hide) the Share buttons at various tiers such as library, site, site collection or web application/tenant.

                        • Implement CMIS for real

CMIS is currently not available for:
                          - SharePoint Foundation
                          - Office365

CMIS is the standard for interoperability... Not implementing it in all SharePoint products demonstrates lack of openness.
Please let all SharePoint users enjoy interoperability, not just a fraction of them.

In the past, you were able to not only drag and drop files from your desktop to SharePoint, you could also drag and top files visvera from your SharePoint to your desktop. Unfortunately, this feature does not work any longer and was never intented to work based on the statement of the support specialist (Office365 support case: SRX616012694500709ID). I do not see a security issue here, because it only worked when the site was part of the trusted sites/intranet in the IE options. eRoom had this feature with a plug-in already back in 2002 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ERoom). It would be…

                              • Modern UI does not enforce mandatory fields properly

Somewhat related to this (https://sharepoint.uservoice.com/forums/329214-sites-and-collaboration/suggestions/17274506-leave-files-checked-out-when-required-fields-are-n) problem, is that if the Modern UI is turned on for a document library, it wont enforce mandatory fields, unless "enforce checkout" is turned on.

You can edit document properties, check-out/in and publish quite happily without filling out the required fields.

Turning on "enforce check-out" still allows you to edit properties without completing the mandatory ones, but check-in will complain about missing columns.

                                • Allow a site owner to kick a user out of a file opened in Excel Online

If you have multiple people co-authoring in Excel Online, there are times when you need to open the file in Excel - typically for advanced formatting, etc. If someone has accidentally left the file open in their browser, there is no way to force them out and keeps the file locked. Although not always intentional, it can create a major headache by not being able to simply kick/close out that particular user from editing.

                                  • Increase/Remove Throttling

Throttling is a big pain for many customers. If you somehow increase the throttling (no. of items in a list and no. of lookup columns) limit without impacting the performance then it will be beneficial for a larger audience.

                                    • Drag and Drop attachments from Outlook

Would love to be able to drag & drop email attachments directly from Outlook into a document library. Currently I have to drag them to my desktop and then drag from my desktop into the doc library.

                                      • JSLink on displaying lists with new experience

Now we're trying the display list using new experience which released recently.
One important missing function is there is no way to do customization UI by using JavaScript. As you know the classic (current) experiense have JSLink. Hope to provide it on the new experience, too.

Bring back 'export to excel' to the new document library experience
