  1. Open Sharepoint Online links locally in Explorer and not in the Browser

    As a company we use Sharepoint for our business documents and everyone in the organisation has Sharepoint synced to their computers.

    We often want to share documents within the team but at the moment, when we receive or open a link to a file in the sharepoint library, we click the link and an internet browser opens and the file/folder is shown in the internet browser.

    But, we want it to open the file/folder in the Windows Explorer / local OneDrive so we can work with the files locally and not through the internet browser.

    For example PDFs or Autocad…

  2. Open PDF files in Microsoft Word client application

    Many people want to open PDF files in Adobe client application (uservoice created since 15. february 2016), but would it be possible to open in Microsoft Word client application instead?

    Word already support open a PDF file without converting it to a Word document, and open the file directly wherever it's stored (for example, double-click the PDF file in your Documents folder).

    We can even edit the PDF file using Word (Word makes a copy of the PDF, converting it to a Word document and attempting to match layout of the original PDF. You always have the original PDF file,…

  4. Add "Request Files" feature SPO Document libraries.

    The Request Files feature in OneDrive is useful, but we also need this in SPO Document Libraries. In addition the Request Files feature should allow users to upload Folders and not only single documents.

  5. Customize sharing link

    When you share a file in SharePoint Online via a link, the link is very ugly and long. Especially if the link is to be sent to external service providers, this is not nice. A function to define these links yourself would solve the problem.

  6. Add function to lock the sharing settings for a document library, including external sharing

    ■Description(内容):
    組織範囲またはサイト コレクションごとに外部共有の既定値を設定することが可能のようにドキュメントライブラリごとに外部共有を含む共有の設定範囲を固定する機能の実装を要望します。

    Please make it possible to lock the sharing settings for a document library, including external sharing, in the same way as it is possible to set the default value of external sharing settings on an organization or site collection basis.

  7. Restricting folder uploads

    *English follows Japanese

    ■Title(件名):
    フォルダーのアップロード制限
    Restricting folder uploads

    ■Description(内容):
    現在の動作では、[詳細設定]から[フォルダー] - [新しいフォルダー] のチェックを外しても、[+新規] からフォルダーを新規作成する動作を制限できても、[アップロード] からはフォルダーがアップロードできてしまう。
    権限セクションで ”アイテムの追加” の権限を外すとフォルダー以外のファイルなども制限されてしまう。
    ドキュメントライブラリ内が煩雑になってしまう事を防ぐために、ユーザーにフォルダーのアップロードを制限させる機能の実装を要望いたします。

    Currently, even if in advanced settings you uncheck “Folder” – “New Folder”, or if you restrict the creation of new folders via “+ New”, you can still upload folders from “Upload”.
    Removing the “Add item” permission in the permissions section results in files other than folders being restricted.
    In order to avoid complicating the contents of document libraries, we would like to be able to restrict users from uploading folders.

  9. stop document library scrolling back to top

    If we access a folder, or upload a file, the library page, it will automatically reload to the top of library. This is extremely frustrating when we have 100+ folders in the library!
    Can the library "remember" where we are working and stay "pinned" to the area we are working in.

  10. details pane, Path attribute value, above Activity

    In a document library, the information pane or details pane has, under the More details, a Type, Modified and Path attribute value displayed for an object, file or folder.
    These attributes, especially the Path attribute value, need to be moved to the top of the pane before the Activity list. Trying to use the Path 'Copy' feature is difficult when you have to scroll to the bottom of an Activity list that is busy and very long!

  11. Label non-channel folders

    Similar to the label that was added to channel folders in doc libraries, add a label in NON channel folders, or minimally the ROOT folder of sites that have an MS Team, alerting users that any files uploaded to that folder will not be visible in Teams.

  12. SharePoint 365: In co-authoring environment, versioning comments needed. Missing. Why remove ? Inexplicable. Version comments needed for aud

    Please re-create/restore versioning comments for co-authoring in SharePoint 365 when check-out is not required. Not being able to add comments is a severe handicap to our organization. We have to account for the changes to each version for auditing purposes. I get it if there is some incontrovertible logical reason for this, but to take away a fairly important feature like comments is hard to comprehend. It doesn't sound like it would involve much work or relative cost either.

  13. Ability to apply "Protect Document" (read-only recommended) on a folder or library

    Our organization appreciates the modern option under File | Info | Protect Document to set files to "read-only recommended" instead of modifying permissions. It allow for files to still be easily collaborated on while preventing accidental changes. Brilliant!

    We are finding an increasing amount of scenarios where all files stored in a specific folder or library would benefit from the option to mass-apply this setting. Essentially, providing the flexibility to put a gate on reference files that should stay static unless edits are necessary.

  14. Add a mail merge function for files saved in libraries

    Add a mail merge function for files saved in libraries

    ■Description(内容):
    現在、ライブラリ上に保存されたファイルを Office クライアント上で差し込み印刷する機能が提供されていないことを確認しました。
    そのため、ライブラリ上に保存されたファイルを Office クライアント上で差し込み印刷する機能の拡充を希望します。
    現在、ライブラリ上に保存されたファイルを Office クライアント上で差し込み印刷するためにローカル コンピューターへ一度保存し直す工数が多く、ライブラリ上に保存されたファイルを Office クライアント上で差し込み印刷することにより、工数を削減し円滑に実施したいと考えています。

    Currently, there is no way to mail merge files stored in libraries from the Office client.
    Please add a feature to make this possible.
    Since you need to save these files locally before you can mail merge them in the Office client, it takes a lot of work, so it would be easier if it could be done directly from the library, saving man-hours of work.

  15. Fix Bug: Fully Load PDFs from Externally Shared Link

    Externally Shared PDFs Don't Fully Load with Link!

    I have a PDF report in a SharePoint Online document library. The report has links in it, some to public/external sites but some are to internal files, also PDFs, also in the same library. (They're supporting documents for report.)

    I've shared the library with myself as an external user (using a Gmail address), view-only, since we need to share the report externally and have both the external and internal links work. Using the Windows login associated with my Gmail account on a separate machine, I can view and access the folder/library that…

  18. ... document different link types and how to configure them

    I am confused about links to files and folders in SharePoint Online. Especially on their robustness in case the files or folders or any of their parents are moved or renamed. The root cause of my issue is that I am unable to find any documentation on this topic. In one site I see the following kind of links. All were taken from the “…” --> “Copy link” menu. Unique document IDs are enabled.

    1. https://domain.sharepoint.com/:w:/r/tst/dir/[some other dirs]/file.docx?d=[some long id]&csf=1&web=1&e=[some other short id]
      From a docx file

    2. https://domain.sharepoint.com/:f:/r/tst/dir/[some other dirs]/testdir?csf=1&web=1&e=[some short id]
      From a folder

    3. https://domain.sharepoint.com/:u:/r/tst/dir/[some other dirs]/email.msg?csf=1&web=1&e=[some short id]

  19. Add the Forms for Excel option in the New menu of a document library on non-M365 group sites

    Currently the Forms for Excel option in the New menu of a document library is only available on Team sites that have a M365 group associated with it. Please add this option for Communication sites and Team sites with no M365 group.
