  1. Drag and drop folders in browser for SharePoint 2016

Our state organization has upgraded SharePoint from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2016. This upgrade has resulted in a functionality loss of being able to drag and drop folders to libraries in browser. We are requesting that Microsoft restore the drag drop folder functionality in SharePoint 2016 that was lost. This loss has had an adverse impact to our business users.

  2. Filter Pane (All Promoted Links)

We would like to have the possibility to display the filtered selection values alphabetically sorted at the "Filter pane" on the right side.

Unfortunately this is not the case at the moment.

  3. Ability to use <frame>, <iframe>, <object>, <embed> on non .sharepoint.com websites to embed content from .sharepoint.com

Currently SharePoint returns https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Headers/X-Frame-Options header when trying to embed (with <frame>, <iframe>, <object>, <embed>) documents from external websites. The header is set to "sameorigin" that simply means only pages hosted on .sharepoint.com domain can do that.

    So let's see below example:
    1. Company XYZ has an internal domain: xyz.com. Company is using SharePoint and stores documents e.g.: pdf's there.
    2. Company XYZ has an internal technical portal: portal.xzy.com and want's to s embed documents from SharePoint.
    3. Because of X-Frame-Options returned along for any pdf/doc/xls etc document #2 is impossible as web browsers will not allow to do this kind…

  4. Bring back SharePoint Online Image Metadata Extraction

Back in September, we have used below columns to extract picture/image metadata w.r.t location in SharePoint Online:

    wic_System_GPS_Latitude
    wic_System_GPS_Longitude

It worked brilliantly. But unfortunately the functionality doesn't seem to work anymore.

Other metadata such as date taken has also been removed. This is causing extreme headache for customers who relied on this data.

    PLEASE BRING THIS BACK!!!

  5. Make custom page templates available to all sites in hub

When you create a page template on a hub site, then it would be great if that page template would be available to all sites associated with the hub.

  6. Add the ability to copy a modern site page from one site to another

You cannot copy a site page from on site to the site pages folder of another site. This is crazy. You can't restructure your pages into other sites. This prevents users from investing any effort in configuration that might change. It is extremely limiting.

  7. Enable experiencing a page, solution or site as a different user, e.g. provide the ability to impersonate a user with fewer rights

As Microsoft increasingly supports tailored experiences, we need the ability to operate as a user with equivalent or fewer credentials, including just not being the person who added information.

For example, a site owner who made updates to a site is seeing Updated Pages (with explicit pages underneath) in the left navigation, but has no rights to remove the navigation and didn't realize that other people weren't seeing those pages.

Another case was where the SCA had no issue opening a document with embedded documents, but it would not open for site owners and contributors.

    In our on-prem environment, I…

  8. Full With News Webpart with Parellex scroll

For the next version of the LEGO Intranet I'll very much like to be able to show news in a full width News Web-part with Parellex scroll for the smooth effect of the Hero web-part.
This will make my new Intranet "Home" page look as good and modern as it can get but with dynamic news as the main content and not static content as the Hero web-part delivers.

I'm suggestion to add full with option the the News Web-part and to give it the high modern feel of the Hero Web-part.

  9. Be able to set mandatory SharePoint properties/metadata when saving a Word document to a SharePoint document library

If you create a Word document and save it (from within Word) to a document library in SharePoint that has required columns, Word will first show a yellow warning in the notification bar, indicating that required properties need to be filled in before saving and then show the SharePoint properties on the right hand side of the document (the new Document Information Panel). No SharePoint properties are however shown in the form. If all the columns are optional, you will be able to fill them in by clicking on the "Properties" icon in the Ribbon's "View" tab.
    By clicking on…

  10. Ability to align images on modern pages

I'd like to align an image directly from the image webpart.
This is really annoying that the pages are so easy to create but that you can't control the image alignment on the page.

    Aligning images is an essential.

Today an image occupies the width of the container it’s in (e.g. 1/3 column). Assuming you could make your image smaller than the column width, what level of alignment would you want? Is left, right, center sufficient, or are you wanting vertical alignment in the negative space around the image (e.g. top, middle, bottom)? What would you expect happens to the space on different break points (e.g. iPad, mobile phone, etc.) Does it go away, or is it somehow retained? Thanks.

  12. The Content Type filter in document libraries is not working in alternate languages

When trying to filter data using content type in an alternate language, sharepoint is trying to filter the data using the CTs translated name instead of its original. In this way it doesnt return any result.

  13. The document library WebPart should interpret .url files as links rather than downloads

If someone creates a link file (.url) in modern document libraries and clicks on them, he is rerouted to the target url.
If you embed a document library Web Part in a modern SharePoint page that points to the same document library and you click the .url file, a download will be triggered.
However, the creators expect the URL files to behave in the same way as they do in the document library, so the user is redirected to the landing page.

  14. Calendar Export Feature to Include All Recurring Items

To allow exporting items from a Calendar list to a report, such as excel, of all items within the selected calendar including the RECURRING items for each instance, not just the first instance of each item, as these events are actually recurring and should have an option to be shown as such. Also, the ability to provide a date range to limit the export data for the desired report.

  15. Two-Way-Sync between SharePoint and Excel

It should be feasible to sync updates from Excel to SharePoint Online list. We can import the Excel sheet to a SharePoint Online list or export a SharePoint list to Excel file. However, the sync between them is one-way.

Changes made in the SharePoint list can be written to Excel, but any changes that we make in Excel won't written to SharePoint list automatically.

  16. Fix task list showing ID instead of Task Name in modern view

Please fix the issue now showing with the Tasks list and the Task Name.

In classic view, the Task Name field shows correctly. In the modern view, the Task Name field shows the ID number of the record instead of the name.

Support told me to vote for this idea: "Modern experience for Task List" (https://sharepoint.uservoice.com/forums/329214-sites-and-collaboration/suggestions/31844641-modern-experience-for-task-lists#comments) but this problem is just showing in the comments.

    PLEASE FIX THIS.

  17. Top Nav support on Modern Team Sites

Our organization would love to see the top nav from the communication site template allowed to be used in Team sites, with both Mega Menu and Cascading options. With the team site as the default for a Microsoft Team, we are consistently being asked for a top nav option when the group tries to use the SPO pages of their team site. It would be great if both left and top nav could be supported at the same time for a team site.

  18. Delete Button on Modern Pages

Modern pages are sick, everyone knows it. But! There is one action where I still have to navigate to: Settings > Site Contents > Site Pages

    To delete a page.

Would love to have a delete button on Modern Pages.

Super useful for end users who for instance, could be managing rolled up news in a Hub site. They don't know where the news is coming from, but maybe they want to delete an article because it isn't appropriate. How do they know where the article came from? How many clicks could it save?

Vote #1: Add delete button to…

  19. Anchor Links or Collapsing Sections

It would be helpful to have sections that collapse, tabs, or anchor links for pages that contain lots of information. Word allows you to create bookmarks, and OneNote allows you to create tabs to easily navigate lots of information on a given topic. It would be great if you had the same flexibility with a page in SharePoint

  20. Kick or Remove Users that have a SP document Open

It would be nice if the owner of a document could ‘kick/remove’ users in the document and stop sharing for a period if needed. This would be useful if a guest user leaves a document open on their computer and is no longer active/editing. Also, it can be useful if you want to be the only one in the document for a short period of time for thick client compatibility issues etc. Auto-save should essentially capture anything the guest user updated before they are kicked out and the document is temporarily removed from sharing.
