Anchor Links or Collapsing Sections
It would be helpful to have sections that collapse, tabs, or anchor links for pages that contain lots of information. Word allows you to create bookmarks, and OneNote allows you to create tabs to easily navigate lots of information on a given topic. It would be great if you had the same flexibility with a page in SharePoint
948 votesWe’ve shipped anchors on pages for all text web part headings (H1, H2, H3). Simply hover over a heading on a modern page and you’ll see the link symbol to that anchor. Clicking on the link adds it to the end of your page URL #as-an-anchor-using-the-text-from-the-heading.

Allow News Digest Emails to pull from multiple sources
The News web part can pull news posts from multiple sites, however the Digest email only appears to be able to pull from one site. It'd be great if I could create a digest that pulls from all the sources that a web part pulls from. This would allow for multiple communication sites to be used for a single email digest and would increase buy-in from our internal communications team, as well as the various departments which want to communicate within the organization.
17 votesYou can actually already do this today, but thanks for submitting this suggestion to help us update our help documentation. If you create a page, with a news web part, pulling from the sites you want to make a digest for, and then click the see all link on that news web part, you’ll be able to create a news digest, selecting posts from the various sites you configured to include.
We’ll update this help article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/create-and-send-a-news-digest-42efc3c6-605f-4a9a-85d5-1f9ff46019bf

Enable scheduling of posts for the News Section
In Sharepoint Communication Sites -
Allow the option to schedule posts for the News Section.
Allow the option to change the published date for posts in the News Section (e.g. if you need to back-date something).
Allow the option to change the publishing user on News posts (e.g if you're publishing something on behalf of a team member, but want their name displayed, not yours)
117 votesThis is currently rolling out to customers

News and modern pages both support listing an alternate author in the author by-line field already today.

Remove Get the mobile app and Feedback buttons
Please allow site administrators to remove or hide this button as we don't want our internal user to send feedback to microsoft instead of internal support team.
684 votesWe have removed the “get mobile app” and “feedback” button. Thank you for the feedback !
The SharePoint mobile app can be downloaded from the Apple and Google app stores.

Provide option to convert existing site to communication site
For customers who are trying to completely modernize their large SharePoint implementations, it should be possible to convert an existing site collection to use the communication site template.
It can simply be a powershell command that applies all the features/etc. it needs.
It doesn't need to change existing content, just apply the styles and create the typical landing page for a communication site.
It'll make it easier to adopt upcoming features (like adding sites to hubs, etc.)

Set "Communication Site" as Root site collection
For organisations that would like to use Communication site as their intranet it would be great if you could provision the root site as a Communication site, rather than a team site with a redirect to the communication site.
There is a workaround as mentioned here but i'd prefer a Microsoft supported method https://hangconsult.com/2017/06/29/change-sharepoint-online-root-site-collection-to-use-the-new-communication-site-template/
1,185 votesYou can now enable communication site experience at the classic root site with http://spo.ms/enablecommsite or swap a new communication site to the root with http://aka.ms/siteswap

Enable Audience targeting on modern page web parts
It would be great to be able to target content by Audience (using global audiences and SharePoint groups) on the modern web parts just like we were able on the classic pages. Thanks
1,172 votesWe’re rolled out audience targeting on pages and news posts, and allow targeting content in the news and highlighted content web parts. You can also soon target links in quick links (see the product roadmap for dates).
If you have specific web parts you’d like to see add audience targeting capabilities, please create an individual request for each part.
Thank you!

Enable "tel:" and "mailto:" links in editor
When creating links using the Wysiwig editor we should have the ability to add "tel:" links and "mailto:" links.
193 votesSorry we neglected to let you know this is already available on modern pages in the text web part. Either type the syntax directly into the page (and on enter we should recognize it), or use ctrl/cmd + K to bring up the page picker.

We added this capability to both quick links and hero web parts, via the “From a link” tab in the file picker. You can add mailto:.
We do not intend to support other linking formats at this time (e.g. file, ftp)

Ability to resize images on modern pages
I'd like to be able to resize an image directly from the modern pages image webpart. This is really annoying that the pages are so easy to create but that you can't control the image size on the page.

Remove restriction for 50 hub sites (or increase it to 500 sites)
Please remove the restriction for 50 hub sites per tenant (or at least increase it to 500 sites) as there could be many scenarios where one would need more than 50 hub sites particularly the large / multinational enterprise/organisations. For example, Project Management Office (PMO) used to create subsites for a large projects to manage different streams within a single project and would now create Office 365 Groups and I can see PMO could easily use 10 - 20 hub sites.

The hub sites limit has been increased to 2,000.

Events Roll Up Web Part on Hub Site
We love the new hub site feature, and the roll ups for sites and highlighted content. What we really need is a roll up web part for events, so that all event calendars accross the hub can show on one webpart.
Uses for this would be to show all events, company wide, happening this week.17 votesboom! it's done ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded
Option to roll up events from “all sites in the hub” is now available

Allow alternate row formatting in Modern Lists
To improve visual accessibility, could you allow a simple way to colour the background of every other list item's row?

Multilingual Communication Sites
Including support would be needed.
My client has a legal requirement for using software, intranets that is Bi-Lingual.
Communication sites are really great way to building new Intranets quickly but this is a critical feature for adoption.

Column formatting in List Web Part
Support column formatting in list web part view.

We showed at Ignite 2018 the modern doclib and list webpart having full fidelity views, matching the same thing you’d see in the full doclib or list page. That should now be available in SharePoint Online.
If you are seeing specific customizations that aren’t working, please open a support ticket so we can track it down.

For SharePoint Libraries-Customize forms using PowerApps
I want to be able use PowerApps to customize forms for SharePoint libraries. Currently only lists seem to be supported.

Publish date format defaulting to US Format in Modern Pages for other regions
The Published date on Modern Site Pages in Classic SharePoint sites is defaulting to US format (MM/DD/YYYY) although the tenant is in AU format (DD/MM/YYYY).
The date format for other content in SharePoint Classic sites is MM/DD/YYYY which is same as Regional Settings.

This should now be fixed

Page Layouts in Modern Pages
The modern pages are great, however there should be more flexibility such as being able to select different page layouts and would take the best from the old classic pages and incorporating with the new modern look and feel.
416 votesPage templates are now rolled out to 100% WW and you can create your own templates per site. If you have more or different needs, please open a new item and give us some specifics so we can ensure we build what you need. Thanks!

Mobile navigation support for O365 Hub Site provided navigation
Now when it is possible to create hub sites in addition to communication sites in O365 tenants which are in targeted release mode it seems that concept is initially missing mobile navigation support for navigation provided by hub site.
When you navigate either hub site itself or any other site connected to hub the UI only offers mobile navigation for current communication site and O365 global navigation.
I really like to see ready made and responsive solution for mobile navigation in hub site level navigation also.
43 votesThe SharePoint mobile app displays the hub navigation. Also when visiting sites on mobile web browsers the navigation also appears

Features to Edit Modern Pages
There is too little control of a Modern Page. You can't control text size and coloring, you have limited format control, and most of all you can't edit source. I used this to drop in things like Image Maps or other HTML that there was no way to add in.
196 votesAs we mentioned in the last update, we’re working on anchor linking for modern pages, and it should be available shortly. We’ll clear up the m365 Roadmap to ensure that gets added.
See this suggestion:
https://sharepoint.uservoice.com/forums/329214-sites-and-collaboration/suggestions/33253909-anchor-links-or-collapsing-sectionsText formatting is already available in the rich text editor on modern pages.
To create an image map you could use the image web part for a single link, but to make multiple links across different parts of the image, you’d need to leverage a web part designed to do that. There are partners and potentially open source web parts to create Image Maps.
If you have other suggestions (e.g. font selection), please search and vote for those, or open a new suggestion. Thank you.
