  1. Highlighted content for Document Library uses metadata columns

    It would be very useful to have the Highlighted Content Web Part for Document Libraries recognise additional metadata columns for the selected Document Library, e.g. things like "Publisher" or "Author", etc.

    Whatever columns are defined and populated for a Document Library should be selectable as filters.

  2. Add support for Chrome Incognito mode when embedding Excel workbooks via Sharepoint

    The iframe method for embedding public, anonymous access Excel workbooks into a webpage via SharePoint/ODFB doesn’t work for Chrome in Incognito mode, instead yielding a “SharePoint Online Sign In” request. (Using the OneDrive-Personal method does work, however, as does Sharepoint/ODFB with every other browser/privacy mode combo I’ve tested.)

  3. Harmonize idle session timeout behavior for OneDrive-hosted embedded Excel workbooks

    When Excel workbooks embedded into a web page iframe via SharePoint/ODFB time out after ~12 minutes inactivity, they display a relatively unfriendly “Service Unavailable” error message. Please consider adopting the OneDrive-Personal approach, which automatically reloads the original workbook upon resumed activity (…albeit without interim user edits).

  4. Extend idle session timeout for OneDrive-hosted embedded Excel workbooks

    Please extend the idle timeout for Excel workbooks embedded in web pages via OneDrive (iframe method) to at least 1 hour, or implement an admin-configurable timeout. Around Feb 2020 the timeout dropped from hours to only ~12 minutes of inactivity, but that is far too short for use cases requiring users to fetch and return with additional data.

  5. send an alert when Document Libraries reach the 5000 threshold

    send an alert by mail or even a pop message in the list page to the site (list/library) owner once the list is about to reach the 5000 threshold (maybe 80% before)

  6. Add Sorting options to Sites webpart

    Please add an option to allow customized sorting of all sites when using the Sites webpart. Suggestions might be Alphabetical, Creation Date, Modified date, Size.

  7. Sharepoint needs the ability to share without requiring sign-in across all interfaces

    I understand that I can use the Documents menu to share without sign-in, but the native Sharepoint folder view/Share option with 'Require sign-in' does not behave as expected, the recipient is still prompted to sign in (and create a Microsoft account if they don't have one)

  8. Warn users that replacing a SharePoint file is NOT the same as adding a new version

    Summary: Warn users that when you replace a file on SharePoint, you are NOT adding a new version. All your version history will be lost.

    Context: I had a user who was having an issue saving a document on SharePoint, so they saved a copy to their OneDrive so preserve the changes.

    They then tried moving that file to SharePoint. When it replaced the existing file, it overwrote the file, losing all of the version history.

    I was asked to raise this issue here by Microsoft, so they could review the details.

  9. Regarding “All users”

    Regarding “All users”


    ■Description(内容):
    権限を付与する際に、"すべてのユーザー" で共有することで、テナント内すべてのユーザー (ゲスト ユーザー含む) に共有が可能です。
    しかしながら、"すべてのユーザー" については、テナント単位でしか表示を制御することが出来ません。
    そのため、ゲスト ユーザーにも共有される事を知らないユーザーが誤って "すべてのユーザー" で共有してしまう可能性がある為、サイト単位で制御できるよう、パフォーマンスの向上を希望します。

    When assigning permissions, it is possible to share with all users in a tenant (including guest users) using the “All users” sharing option.
    However, display of this “All users” option can only be controlled on individual tenants.
    Since there is a risk that users may not understand that this includes guests, and then share with “All users”, please add a way to control this at the site level for better performance.

    SharePoint Online のカスタム リストにおいて、必須項目に入力がされていない状態で保存をしようとするとエラー メッセージが該当する項目の直下に記載される動作となっております。

    しかし、入力項目が多いとエラー メッセージの記載が見つけることが難しく、何故 [保存] が反応しないのかが分かりにくい場合があります。
    そのため、エラーメッセージを [保存] のボタンの付近に表示させたり、ポップアップが出てくるようにするなど、エラーが発生していることを確認しやすい機能の実装をお願いいたします。

    In the Excel app, I can use the page change preview feature to change the print area. But, Excel for the Web doesn't currently implement page change preview and print area changes, so we're here to expand it.

    When moving a list item to another list by export or templating, the last modified date/time is changed. We need the last modified information for processing, so please make it possible to move items to another list while retaining the original last modified information.

  19. Uservoice search

    Make the uservoice forum for sharepoint more user friendly, by enabling search in all forums on the front page https://sharepoint.uservoice.com/, instead of having to select first a forum. I always use way to much time to decide what forum to go into before I can start to search. Make the search available on the front page. Does not have to have the availability to enter new ideas, just search existing ideas in one place.

  20. Warn user of the consequences of setting retention on folder

    When end users chose to mark a folder for retention, it marks EVERY document within that folder with the same retention label. At large scale, it is only possible to fix this mess via Powershell.

    It would surely be better if the user was warned of this outcome in advance with an "Are you sure?" message. (Admins could have the right to turn off this message on a site-by-site basis or at a global level.)
