Allow existing site pages to be added to the "News"
I see these pages have a "Promoted State" and "FirstPublishedDate" that are used to determine if a page should be shown as News, but these properties cannot be changed. I want to be able to take an existing site page, and publish it as News.
Alternatively, you could let me publish news to a library separate from the site pages so I'm not cluttering my wiki page library.
55 votesYou can use the promote button on a modern page to promote a current page and make it news.

Footers for Communication Sites
There should be a web part that enables users to create Footers for their communication sites
28 votesThanks for your feedback! We’re happy to report that your suggestion is available. Documentation can be found here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/dev/features/site-footer

Ability to resize images on modern pages
I'd like to be able to resize an image directly from the modern pages image webpart. This is really annoying that the pages are so easy to create but that you can't control the image size on the page.

Add News Article Metadata
Add News Article Metadata
When adding a news article (site page) on Communication Sites, through the new interface, it would be great to be able to populate additional metadata for the page.
This could be along the lines of tagging pages with keywords for searching through articles or adding custom metadata.
203 votesWe’ve enabled custom metadata on pages and news in Sites last year and forgot to mark this complete.
See the blog about it here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-SharePoint-Blog/Structure-your-intranet-page-metadata-coming-to-SharePoint-in/ba-p/212555
If you have additional asks, like the commentor asking for AND/OR control in news filtering, please search and find a suggestion to vote for, or open a new once.

Multilingual Communication Sites
Including support would be needed.
My client has a legal requirement for using software, intranets that is Bi-Lingual.
Communication sites are really great way to building new Intranets quickly but this is a critical feature for adoption.

Set "Communication Site" as Root site collection
For organisations that would like to use Communication site as their intranet it would be great if you could provision the root site as a Communication site, rather than a team site with a redirect to the communication site.
There is a workaround as mentioned here but i'd prefer a Microsoft supported method https://hangconsult.com/2017/06/29/change-sharepoint-online-root-site-collection-to-use-the-new-communication-site-template/
1,185 votesYou can now enable communication site experience at the classic root site with http://spo.ms/enablecommsite or swap a new communication site to the root with http://aka.ms/siteswap

Enable Audience targeting on modern page web parts
It would be great to be able to target content by Audience (using global audiences and SharePoint groups) on the modern web parts just like we were able on the classic pages. Thanks
1,172 votesWe’re rolled out audience targeting on pages and news posts, and allow targeting content in the news and highlighted content web parts. You can also soon target links in quick links (see the product roadmap for dates).
If you have specific web parts you’d like to see add audience targeting capabilities, please create an individual request for each part.
Thank you!

Page Layouts in Modern Pages
The modern pages are great, however there should be more flexibility such as being able to select different page layouts and would take the best from the old classic pages and incorporating with the new modern look and feel.
416 votesPage templates are now rolled out to 100% WW and you can create your own templates per site. If you have more or different needs, please open a new item and give us some specifics so we can ensure we build what you need. Thanks!

RSS Feed in modern pages
Please allow the embedding of RSS feeds within Modern Pages (using the embed webpart)
125 votesboom! it's done ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded
If the RSS feed generates an iFrame, you should be able to use the embed we part. Also on team sites, you can use the RSS connector – search for RSS in the web part toolbox in pages on your team site.
If this doesn’t meet your scenario needs, can you open a new item with my specifics of the gaps?

Communication Site: Themes and and branding options missing
The current communication site template cannot be used for corporate wide communication because there are some important things missing.
The overall design is only able to speak and represent only the Microsofot CI/CD. The missing branding and theming options makes it hard to be used in corporates because there is currently no way to apply corporate communication and design guidelines to the page. For user it makes it hard to identify the page as an official communication channel by the company and not by Microsoft. In addition not even well known and supported customisations through Themes is possible at the…

A number of theming updates have been rolled out this year – and the branding updates we shared at Ignite 2018 will be rolling out to Targeted Release later this month. We’re going to resolve this suggestion and ask that you create new suggestion(s) for specific branding settings/asks. Thank you!

Add managed metadata as filter option in Highlighted Content webpart in Modern Pages
Filter options now only include title or content search, and managed properties.
Adding managed metadata will improve this powerful webpart!

Site Settings option missing in the Modern pages
In SharePoint Online, the site settings option is missing in all the modern pages. It looks weird for all the users as they don't find the direct option to access the site settings page from the landing page of the site. It would be great if you include the site settings option in the modern pages/sites.

Remove banner and header title from modern pages
I would like to be able to remove the header from the new/modern "Pages". When I add a new page on SharePoint online now, I love the new page except for the top header image and text which takes up about a 3rd of the page. It's wasted space and not aesthetically pleasing.
276 votesThere are two requests in this one item. Based on the title, I’m going to mark this done with our work to add four layouts to the title area. One of these layouts is called “Plain” and shows only one line of page title, with no image.
Many of the comments are asking for another great feature, not related to the page title area, but rather the site header. We’re also working on allowing options to resize this area. We’ve added a “compact view” for the site header, and have plans for an even more minimized view. If this feature is what you’d like to upvote, please add a new UserVoice request.

Pls create zones in the toolbox on modern pages to discern between the oob responsive webparts and the legacy add-ins (app parts) introduced
You just introduced the ability on modern pages to show add-ins and app parts. Ok, great thing so far, but pls put a kind of delimitier in the toolbox of the modern pages between the oob responsive new modern webparts and the "legacy" add-ins (app parts). Without such delimiter (be it a line or anything) it is really not easily discernable for the users creating content on a page which webpart will be responsive oob and which may be a problem on small devices. To really get the mobile first strategy going, you need to make sure it is easy…

We’ve rolled out the large toolbox to First Release users this week. AppParts (components of add-ins) show up in the Other section, while other modern web parts are categorized. All of these tools are of course easily accessible via search.

Enable Reordering Modern News Articles/Pages in News Web part
We would love the ability to reorder the articles/pages in the modern News web parts or have the ability to surface featured articles to the top.

Quick Links Web Part
For quick links web part, I would love to be able to change the formatting - like tiles instead of these large cards, or shrink the size to fit many more cards than what is currently available
4 votesboom! it's done ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded
We added an ability to pick a smaller layout, or choose cards. You also have the option to show an icon or image, or just the text.
