Change the ‘Site Contents’ page
The ‘Site Contents’ page (_layouts/15/viewlsts.aspx) is not user friendly when you have a lot of lists and apps. Make subdivisions for libraries, lists, apps,… like SharePoint 2010. Also remove the tiles. It is too overwhelming.

Allow document to open in new tab on right click
I should be able to right click on a document in a library and open it in a new browser tab.

Enable SharePoint auditing for opening and viewing documents
Please make this feature available for SharePoint Online.
"For SharePoint Online, the Opening or downloading documents, viewing items in lists, or viewing item properties event is not available."

For tenant admins and compliance officers, SharePoint audit of document activity is available in the compliance center, see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/securitycompliance/search-the-audit-log-in-security-and-compliance.
For site users, we have anonymized usage data available now. The modern site usage page (siteanalytics.aspx) shows both files with most total views and most unique users who viewed. We have also added a hover card experience in doc libraries, which will show total number of views for that document.
We are not planning any updates at this time to the classic site collection auditing features.
If there are additional specific features you’d like to see, please open a new userVoice request.

Drag and Drop Folders to SharePoint
SharePoint supports dragging files from your desktop into a SharePoint document library, but as soon as you want to drag in a folder containing multiple files/sub-folders this is not supported. You have to recreate the folders manually in document library and then drag in files separately, this consumes a lot of time.

Make the ThemedCssFolderUrl property of the Web object available in the CSOM
You cannot currently load or set the ThemedCssFolderUrl property of the Web object in CSOM. After applying a theme (for example, using the sample PnP code), returning to the app from the newly-themed site shows that the SP.UI chrome control cannot find what it needs to properly display. We need a way to ensure that a new theme that is deployed from the app can set this value so that when returning to the app afterwards the chrome control can continue to display properly.
4 votesWe released this property as part of the November 2016 SharePoint Online CSOM NuGet package release. Thanks for your input and hopefully you’ll find the enhancement useful. drag and drop images in wiki pages and blogs
other CMS systems already allow this functionality. Instead of having to save an image somewhere and then upload it to SharePoint, let me just drag / drop images on the wiki and blog pages. Would be ideal for screenshots

move documents between folders
Make it easier to move documents between folders. It is now possible to use drag & drop to move to sub folders but there are no easy way to move documents up in the structure.

The modern library experience supports that. Right click→Move to, or drag items from the list into the breadcrumb navigation above the list view to quickly move them to a parent folder.

Keep Designer in SharePoint 2016
I heard that in SharePoint 2016 there was NOT going to be any SharePoint Designer! PLEASE! I use it almost daily to provide simple workflows such as email to colleagues and other options that "Out of the Box" functionality can not allow and where InfoPath does not provide "If Then" statements for the ability to create Calendar items if conditions are met.
17 votesboom! it's done ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded
There is no new version of SharePoint Designer, but the 2013 version will continue to work with SharePoint 2016. We’re not taking it away, we’re just not investing more in SharePoint Designer

Replace URL spaces with dashes instead of %20
Please change how SharePoint generates links to uploaded documents and site pages, so that URLs with spaces will replace %20 with a dash instead. Most CMS tools including blogs do when generating SEO friendly URLs. Links with %20 throughout are too difficult to read.
This feedback site is a perfect example:
This:
https://sharepoint.uservoice.com/forums/282887-customer-feedback-for-sharepoint-serveris easier to read than this:

Create a new non-NPAPI plugin for Chrome compatibility
The deprecation of NPAPI plugins in Chrome is affecting some functionality in Chrome. We are specifically having issues with the Open in Client Application feature in document libraries. This no longer works in Chrome by default and will no longer work at all in September once it is fully deprecated.
Please create a way for the Open in Client Application (and any other features that are enabled by the NPAPI plugin) to work in Chrome. This true cross-browser support would help improve our user adoption and go a long way towards convincing our users of the benefits of continued usage…

we no longer rely on plugins for the “Open in” commands when using the modern document library UX. Instead we use the Office URI schemes (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office/client-developer/office-uri-schemes) for cross-browser and cross-OS compatibility. If you are seeing issues opening Office client apps from Chrome please file a support ticket.

web apps integration included
You guys really ought to license the Office Web apps as part of SharePoint without needing to setup individual user licenses. My company just moved over our intranet to SharePoint and I tried editing a spreadsheet in the browser from a computer that does not have a modern version of Excel installed and it says Web apps is not licensed. You are bundling web apps with OneDrive and with your Office365 subscribers. SharePoint is already expensive enough to not include this for free.

Enable the edit properties dialog when uploading documents with drag&drop
Upload via Drag&Drop is very easy but it is hard to set the metadata this way.
you need 3 clicks - no user does this much work to set metadata164 votesboom! it's done ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded
Drag and dropping a file to a library with a required field will show the details pane and prompt the user to fill out the field.
Currently you can only use the details pane to update the metadata of one item at a time. We’re thinking about better capabilities to “bulk apply” metadata.

Show breadcrumb down to folder level in a library
The breadcrumb becomes fairly useless after you have arrived at Document Library level. Folders are still a very important way for users to organize documents. Once you start going into folders, there is no telling from the navigation controls where you are.
This could easily be fixed with an improved breadcrumb which shows the path down to the folder level.Ideally this should even be an option that you can control from navigation settings, which currently allow zero control over the breadcrumb control.
This is something you should be able to manipulate through configuration without the need for custom code.78 votesboom! it's done ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded
The modern document library experience has a much better breadcrumb UX for viewing the path down to the room.

A Full Featured Forms Editor to replace InfoPath
So Infopath 2013 is supported in 2016, but SharePoint really needs a full modern full-featured forms editor. FoSL looks promising but the functionality is not clear at this time.

Remove the limit (5,000 items) on SharePoint Document Library Syncing

Make an easier way to navigate up when you are in a sub-folder within a document library.
The 'Navigate Up' button on the library ribbon tab is too hidden for users and it also requires an extra click every time you need to go up. The breadcrumb also requires an extra click because you have to click the 'Browse' tab in the ribbon to see it every time.

Responsive design
The mobile views are not a solution, so many customers turn to custom design, but I would rather a responsive design be built into SharePoint.

Thank you for the suggestion! In the past several months, we have released a series of new interfaces for SharePoint Online, all of which are responsive (e.g, modern list, modern document library, modern team site home page, new site connect page, and modern site page, etc.). We also released mobile apps across iOS, Android, and UWP platforms. Hope these help you better work on mobile and on the go. Let us know if you have any new feedback/followups.
