connect subsite to a group
Connect O365 groups to existing team subsites - the functionality to connect the site collection to a new group already exists (https://support.office.com/en-us/article/connect-a-classic-experience-sharepoint-team-site-to-a-new-office-365-group-469c6ee0-2139-4496-9914-7e39d07ac49d), we need to be able to do this at subsite level
6 votesThanks for your feedback! Although we appreciate your time and effort to give us this feedback, it’s not something we’re planning to do right now. We do, however, support connecting top level site collections to Office 365 groups.

現時点ではモダン サイトにて、サイト テンプレート機能が利用できないため今後の機能拡充に向けモダン サイトにおいてもサイト テンプレート機能が利用できるよう要望いたします。Currently in Modern sites, the site template feature cannot be used.
For improvement of usability in the future, allow users to use the site template feature in the Modern sites as well.Thank you for your consideration.

Thank you for the feedback! We are addressing this capability/ask with site designs – effectively allowing users to apply their own customizations to a base set of site templates that we can continue to update over time (addressing a limitation w/ point-in-time site templates of the past). For more details check out https://aka.ms/spsitedesigns.

Hide Search Box in Modern Homepage
The new search funcion in modern page doesn't support filter by custom refiner, we engage user to use the classic search at this moment. Is there a way to disable the new search function in the sites?

Thanks for your feedback! It’s not possible to disable the new search experience on modern sites. We are thinking about supporting custom refiners.

In SPO, enable the option of activating SP publishing infrastructure feature in Communication sites
In SPO, enable the option of activating SP publishing infrastructure feature in the modern Communication site template/sitecollection.
249 votesWe’re working on modern versions of the publishing feature set outside of the publishing infrastructure, so in one sense we’re trying to address the need that this request gets at. But to the text of the request itself, we won’t be enabling the ability to turn on the existing publishing infrastructure in Communication sites.
Thanks,
Sites Product Team -
Allow the Communications Site Template and Web Parts in Existing Site Collections
Allow the Communications Site Template and Web Parts in Existing Site Collections by creating a new subsite. Allow the features of the new communications site template to be enabled through site features so that existing sites can be converted to the new template.

Our recommendation going forward is to create separate site collections, and we’ll have features to talk about in the future that will solve many of the scenarios subsites address.

improve the feature concerning "Record & Video " in One Note Online.
At this point,I am unable to use the "Record & Video" in One Note Online despite the it is in the One Note client. Therefore, I hope the feature to be improved that would be available in One Note Online even through the device along with no One Note client so that I could keep directly the Video within One Note notebook.

Modern UI does not enforce mandatory fields properly
Somewhat related to this (https://sharepoint.uservoice.com/forums/329214-sites-and-collaboration/suggestions/17274506-leave-files-checked-out-when-required-fields-are-n) problem, is that if the Modern UI is turned on for a document library, it wont enforce mandatory fields, unless "enforce checkout" is turned on.
You can edit document properties, check-out/in and publish quite happily without filling out the required fields.
Turning on "enforce check-out" still allows you to edit properties without completing the mandatory ones, but check-in will complain about missing columns.

Thanks you for the feedback; in our new design we do prompt for metadata on upload but we are not blocking save/check-in, opting instead for an attention view model. Enable "Open in explorer" in Google Chrome or Edge
Some features do not work in Internet Explorer but do work in Chrome or Edge but the "Open in explorer" only work in IE.
Please fully support IE11 or enable "Open in explorer" in Edge or Chrome. We need this feature for adoption.
Fully support at least on browser.

Thanks for the feedback. We are putting all our energy into making the OneDrive app with Files On Demand the best way to interact with all your SharePoint and OneDrive documents. The legacy Open in Explorer feature depends on some very particular interactions between IE and the Windows OS that can’t be generalized to other browsers, and in addition prevents us from integrating features like sharing links.
If there are scenarios that OneDrive and Files On Demand aren’t delivering for you, please open a specific UserVoice request for those.

Bring Back Script Editor Web Part in "Modern" SharePoint
The Script Editor Web Part has been replaced by the Content Editor (which does a very limited iframe) and the new SPFX stuff. I am not a developer, but knowledgeable in HTML, Javascript, CSS. The SEWP met some very complex use cases (targeted for replacement by SPFX), but also some very simple use cases.
Example: Insert a formatted single HTML button, something that is big, draws attention, and encourages the user to click it to start an action.
What might be just 2 lines of code, has now turned into (what looks like) hundreds of files of deployment, installing all…
759 votesThank you for your suggestion.
We do not intend to bring back a way to create or add ungoverned code on modern SharePoint pages. Therefore there won’t be any modern version of the script editor web part shipped from Microsoft. There are open-source solutions available that enable ungoverned code to run on select sites where it is installed, but those are not recommended or endorsed by Microsoft.
The purpose behind the SharePoint Framework is to enable governance over all scripting solutions leveraged on SharePoint pages. This allows a SharePoint admin to disable a particular solution from all sites, immediately, from within the App Catalog. This centralized governance was not available when ad-hoc scripting was available in the site level only with page editing permissions, which caused potential security challenges.

Libraries tab - bring back
The libraries section has been removed from the new SharePoint look. I think this should come back as it made editing file names, titles etc. easy and quick. It was a very good feature.

The new document library experience does not support the Ribbon. Most of the functionality from this Ribbon tab is available in the new UI – either in the top command bar, the right click menu, or under the gear on the page.

Allow for restoration of individual files/folders in SharePoint Online and hold more than 14 days backup.
Allow individual files/folders to be restored from backup in SharePoint Online instead of it only being an entire site collection backed up (which, if done, you lose any changes to the site since the backup date). Also, keep more than 14 days of backup for SharePoint online sites.
2 votesdeclined ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded
The recycle bin is designed to temporaily keep the deleted files/folders and give you an opportunity to recover the files/folders. And there are two stages of recycle bin, so when a user purges the file in the user’s recycle bin, the file or folder is still available for site admin to restore.

Map a network drive or location to a SharePoint library without having to keep logging in
Map a network drive or location to a SharePoint Online library, so the folder can be accessible as a permanent location in File Explorer, without having to keep going back to the web site to re-enter your login credentials.

SharePoint Url Shortener link when sharing document url
I have a document library where I place documents before I share the documents with others using a url. These urls can be very long.
it would be very useful to be able to have access to a shortened url when sharing a document as a link. e.g. http://sp.com/bYSywe

Create "Edit Online Only" SharePoint permission, or allow for custom permission to achieve this effect
For various reasons, my organization really needs an "Edit Online Only" permission for document collaboration on SP.
Most obviously is the security benefit -- allowing a document to be freely edited, but never downloaded, is the preferred solution when only minimal edits are necessary. Don't overlook this benefit, every single business leader will see value in protecting their IP this way.
There's also a big collaboration need. Imagine blasting 10+ colleagues for their changes in a document. They might all individually download the document, make changes, and send them back, leaving you to piece through their changes to apply them…

There are existing solutions to address the needs. For the security, Data Loss Prevention can prevents the enterprise’s data and IP. In terms of the co-authing, Office client has already supported it.

Increase timeout of workflow manager HTTP Get requests
We have a large number of customers who are using our custom workflow actions in SharePoint Online to automate document conversions. This works quite well, but we have recently identified a problem where HTTP requests in declarative workflow actions are set to a very short time out.
When running on-premise this setting can be tweaked via PowerShell by modifying 'WorkflowServiceMaxHttpResponseTime' (See https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj680843(v=azure.10).aspx). However there appears to be no way to control this in SharePoint Online.
Now, the default 1 minute time-out may seem long, but quite a few operations take longer than a minute, e.g. merging multiple files together,…

This is by design. Long running operations such as doc assembly or OCR should be done using an async pattern using WaitForCustomEvent/PublishCustomEvent

Allow workflow actions to be included in App Store Apps
We make a popular product for converting, merging, watermarking and securing files in SharePoint Online. The most popular use for this software is to include our workflow actions in custom SharePoint Designer workflows.
Currently it is not possible to deploy custom workflow actions via SharePoint Apps. As a result our customers have to manually deploy a sandboxed solution that contains our workflow actions. A pretty horrible experience.
Please consider adding support for (declarative) workflow actions to the App model, preferably in a way that doesn't require elevated privileges and may be distributed via the App store.
2 votesdeclined ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded
The workflow engine used by SharePoint is not connected with the add-ins model. With the “provider hosted” app model we are seeing customers, ISVs and SIs getting advantages of more complex workflow engines that are able to connect to different Office 365 workloads instead of SharePoint only.
