Responsive design
The mobile views are not a solution, so many customers turn to custom design, but I would rather a responsive design be built into SharePoint.

Thank you for the suggestion! In the past several months, we have released a series of new interfaces for SharePoint Online, all of which are responsive (e.g, modern list, modern document library, modern team site home page, new site connect page, and modern site page, etc.). We also released mobile apps across iOS, Android, and UWP platforms. Hope these help you better work on mobile and on the go. Let us know if you have any new feedback/followups.

Cross site collection navigation
Current term set based solution is not usable at all in real life multi site collection scenarios.

SharePoint hub sites ,which shipped earlier this year, provide a configurable cross-site navigation control. More information: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-SharePoint-Blog/Organize-your-intranet-with-SharePoint-hub-sites/ba-p/174081

Modified dates in Site Contents should reflect content changes, not system changes
Looking at the modified values in Site Contents has always been a quick way to recognize where activity has occurred - if it has. Without running any code we can quickly see if a site has been used recently. (It was easier to eyeball this in SharePoint 2007 in the vertical listing than it is in SharePoint 2013+, but that's a different UI issue - tiles aren't helpful for every use case.)
For months now, a list no one has touched for over a year might say "Modified 23 hours ago". It seems as though lists and libraries are being…

Thanks for this feedback. This is an example of how User Voice and Twitter brought this to our attention.
We have rolled out a fix to all of production for this issue. Going forward, Site Content’s dates will only update based upon real user behavior, not system changes.
It’s worth noting that this is a go-forward fix – we did not feel it right to go back and change existing dates.
Please let us know if you see any dates update that are unexpected.

Introduce markdown syntax for authoring content
As a systems engineer/developer, I love the office 365/sharepoint platform. The one thing that's stops me from using it for everything is the lack of a productive way to generate content.
Editing content in the UI is horrendously slow and painful, I just want to be able to author content quickly with markdown syntax, and publish my content/documentation quickly and easily.
What's microsofts standpoint on this? Am i the first to request this? (i highly doubt i'm the only one who wants this...)
Cheers,
Morgan

We’ve recently rolled out a markdown web part for modern pages that enables users more familiar with creating content in this syntax, to create pages using this method. Go forth and make beautiful pages :)

Keep Designer in SharePoint 2016
I heard that in SharePoint 2016 there was NOT going to be any SharePoint Designer! PLEASE! I use it almost daily to provide simple workflows such as email to colleagues and other options that "Out of the Box" functionality can not allow and where InfoPath does not provide "If Then" statements for the ability to create Calendar items if conditions are met.

There is no new version of SharePoint Designer, but the 2013 version will continue to work with SharePoint 2016. We’re not taking it away, we’re just not investing more in SharePoint Designer

Conditional formatting system as in Excel
Conditional formatting system as in Excel
For Sharepoint to be customized easily for power users or advanced users without coding experience, JSON is a nightmare
Users should have the choice to opt for graphic (excel type) or coding system to format each column

We just rolled out a Column formatting template – “Conditional Formatting”, that allows users to create if/else/then statements.

web apps integration included
You guys really ought to license the Office Web apps as part of SharePoint without needing to setup individual user licenses. My company just moved over our intranet to SharePoint and I tried editing a spreadsheet in the browser from a computer that does not have a modern version of Excel installed and it says Web apps is not licensed. You are bundling web apps with OneDrive and with your Office365 subscribers. SharePoint is already expensive enough to not include this for free.

Fix: Modern Page ~ Highlighted Content Section ~ layout Cards
I have a Modern Page, that has a Highlighted Content Section Type Videos. It has a filter to show only Videos from a certain Channel that has been created. If the layout is List it will redirect to the actual video player on the Video Channel and play from there, which is expect.
If the layout is Cards the Click event initiates a download of the video causing a massive download and a player needed instead of playing from the online video channel player.2 votesboom! it's done ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded
This should be fixed.

Chat on News
When adding a news article, it would be great to have the option of having a conversation or chat underneath when you post. Thanks!

I would like to be able to preview files without downloading them. Also the site is moving very slowly. Thank you.

We need a new category here for Hub Sites!
Now that Hub Sites are rolling out we might as well have a category for them.
