Enable the ability to paste images directly into multi-line text boxs instead of just URLs
Currently you need to paste a URL in a MLTB but if someone is looking to clip and paste a image from their PC, this become a pain. Can we please just paste directly into the MLTB?
402 votesAs one person mentioned already, you can paste images into the text editor on modern pages and we’ll upload the image for you.
Is this strictly asking for that capability in lists with multi line text box (MLTB)?

Remove the 255 character restriction on Hyperlink fields
There is currently a 255 character restriction on Hyperlink fields. This restriction impedes ability to save Urls that might include hash values are long query strings. Some examples where this is really common are links to SSRS reports (with parameters) and Search urls that contain refinements.

Thanks for your suggestions. We agree this can be a little restrictive and we’re going to look into it.

Nested Hub Sites
Don't think this has been suggested yet, but Hub sites should definitely allow nesting!! The flat/flexible organization is good, and allowing some hierarchy/rollup with hubs is better, but would be best if a hub could be a sub of another hub (a branch, sub of region, sub of district) and have rollup through each level of nested hubs. Allows best of both worlds - flexibility of flat and dynamic association, with advantages of multi-layer hubs!

Custom restrictions of file types that user can upload to a document library.
SharePoint Online. We really need to set some restrictions of file types that user can upload to a document library.
For example, to deny upload file with extension .bmp and .tiff.376 votestell us more ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded
Thanks for your feedback. We were wondering if you asked for this control only on Team sites or OneDrive for Business as well?

Allow lookup columns brought up from different list into calculated columns
Dear Microsoft, this limitation causes a huge impact in our organization - we have been trying to migrate from MS Access into Share Point due to the collaboration it brings, but the limitation of not being able to use "lookup columns" from other lists into "calculated columns" is pretty bad. It affects negatively our ability to compare and do calculation with values from different fields. The whole purpose of MS Access is to run these queries, but since MS shifted to Share Point we thought that was possible as it not. Please do what it takes to make this happen! …

Add a decent photowebpart
Add a photowebpart that shows the content of a picture library in thumbnails. when you click a thumbnail, a popup will appear with the photo in a "normal size" (as available in _w hidden folder) and than you can browse the photos with next/previous buttons, with an option To show the picture in original size.
374 votesWe’ll be updating the Image gallery web part on modern pages shortly to display images dynamically from a document library, if you have that library backed by a CDN.

Overview of applied content types
Content types are an essential part of SharePoint. One issue that has been around since SharePoint 2007 is the absence of an overview of all applied content types. Why is this important? Try to delete a content type and you get the message it's still in use. Good luck finding out where. This is very frustrating and time consuming. That's why I vote for an overview where you can see where the content types are applied.

A consolidated admin view of where published content types are being used is still being evaluated, but for folks voting for the related use case of “better creation and management of content types” please refer to site designs (aka.ms/spsitedesigns) as a modern mechanism to create/apply content types to site libraries. We are also looking at how this could be more easily supported from hub sites.

Editable publish date
Provide an editable field for publish date of pages and news articles. As we migrate content from another platform it's important to maintain existing "published" dates

Publish a modern page on a given time
My users would like the ability to publish a modern page on a given time. Now it is only possible to publish a page directly. Make it possible to publish a modern page on time the user (optionally) enters in a datetime field.
332 votesWe’re currently working on this feature now. You’ll be able to specify when your modern page actually gets published (date/time).

Bring back SharePoint Online Image Metadata Extraction
Back in September, we have used below columns to extract picture/image metadata w.r.t location in SharePoint Online:
wicSystemGPSLatitude
wicSystemGPSLongitudeIt worked brilliantly. But unfortunately the functionality doesn't seem to work anymore.
Other metadata such as date taken has also been removed. This is causing extreme headache for customers who relied on this data.
PLEASE BRING THIS BACK!!!

Please provide option to customize email templates
Please provide option to customize email templates used to send notifications out of SharePoint online like "Send by Email" feature on modern UI pages, sharing notifications to other users. Most organizations do not allow users to install mobile apps. Providing information that is not approved will confuse the users and require constant training.
327 votesThank you for this suggestion. We have definitely heard the feedback. While we don’t have any plans at this time to enable custom email templates this is something we’ll think about as we move forward and prioritize items for our future roadmap. Thank you.

Accordions Webparts
Introduce Accordions & Tabs (In-page) web parts | More Table Functionality
Accordions help users see only the content they need. Accordions expand and collapse sections of content with a title.
Horizontal & Vertical Tabs (In-page)
Tabs are perfect for single page web applications, or for web pages capable of displaying different subjects.Tables are very limited. You can't even merge a cell? Enough said.

New Communication SIte - Add Categories to News Articles
Categorize and filter news articles on new publishing site
Ability to select category (or multiple) for a news article when you create it. Plus the ability to filter the news widget by category.
Exactly like you can for events. Plus the ability to select multiple categories if you choose.324 votesToday you can add metadata to modern pages and news. Also the news web part currently supports filtering news by metadata, as long as the source of the content is the current site.
We’re working to enable this same filtering across sites right now.

Modern Content Editor Web Part
It would be nice to have the option to place a web part on a modern page and add HTML to it. We don't always want to jump to SPFx for something simple. It would help add some flexibility to the modern pages.

Ability to save a file directly into a library and choose the metadata
There are some ways but they are limited. They don’t work in some situations or from any application. The saving experience to a shared drive is still so much more consistent!
- Use a favorite/add network location/map network drive
- In Office, we can choose where to save, pin in each application
- Save from an email: a message or attachment by saving on the desktop
It would be amazing to be able to:
1. Mark all sites (or libraries) where we would want to save (shortcuts)
2. Click on save in any application and be able to choose one…312 votes -
Two-Way-Sync between SharePoint and Excel
It should be feasible to sync updates from Excel to SharePoint Online list. We can import the Excel sheet to a SharePoint Online list or export a SharePoint list to Excel file. However, the sync between them is one-way.
Changes made in the SharePoint list can be written to Excel, but any changes that we make in Excel won't written to SharePoint list automatically.

Open ".xdw" file in browser without downloading it
*English follows Japanese
■Title(件名):
ブラウザーで表示できない形式のファイルについてOpen ".xdw" file in browser without downloading it
".xdw" 形式のファイルなどをドキュメント ライブラリに保存した際、ブラウザーから開く際にはダウンロードされてから開く動作となる。関連するアプリケーションと関連付けを行う機能等により、".xdw" 形式のファイルなどを直接ブラウザーで表示が可能とする機能の実装を希望。
When we try to open ".xdw" format files stored in document library, we first have to download it to open up. What I would like to happen is for the file to simply be displayed in the browser without downloading it.
Thank you for your consideration.

Office 365 Connectors web part in Communication Sites
Office 365 Connectors within SharePoint are only available for use within group-connected SharePoint team sites, according to https://support.office.com/en-ie/article/use-the-connector-web-part-db0756aa-f78f-4b74-8b19-be5dca0420e1.
Please add support for using Office 365 Connectors also in Communication Sites. For example, I would like to display data from outside by using an RSS Feed connector on a Communication Site page.
