Allow existing site pages to be added to the "News"
I see these pages have a "Promoted State" and "FirstPublishedDate" that are used to determine if a page should be shown as News, but these properties cannot be changed. I want to be able to take an existing site page, and publish it as News.
Alternatively, you could let me publish news to a library separate from the site pages so I'm not cluttering my wiki page library.
55 votesYou can use the promote button on a modern page to promote a current page and make it news.

Allow users to complete required metadata when uploading documents.
Allow users to complete required metadata when uploading documents using the modern library view. Currently, users are not prompted to complete required fields or select a content type. As a result, the file is left in a checked-out state unless the user knows to edit the properties as a second step after uploading. This breaks sites that have structured metadata and/or specific content type usage requirements. SharePoint has always prompted for these required fields in the past, why remove that functionality?

When you upload a file to a library with required metadata, the details pane opens and prompts you to enter those field values.
We’re investigating how we can bring this experience of Office Online as well – no timelines that we can commit to yet for that.

Remove the limit of 5000 items as result in a view
You can have millions of items in a list, but as soon as the view you are using returns more than 5000 ítems then you get an error, the only solution is to create filters and indexes to this view, and it has to be done before reaching the 5000 ítems limit, otherwise there won't be a way to create the indexes / filters.
I know about this workaround because I created a support case in Microsoft Premium, here you have the reference: [REG:116022413747778] Sharepoint History list has been lost or can't be seen51 votesboom! it's done ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded
Apologies for late update here. We’re going to close out this suggestion, directing folks to recent updates we shared at Ignite 2017 around smarter indexing and UX improvements to better manage querying and displaying content from large lists (for more details check out this Ignite session: https://myignite.microsoft.com/videos/53861). For specific scenarios or feedback on this approach please post new suggestions (noting that SQL will never scan more than 5k rows, so specific feedback/suggestions where the current approach still blocks scenarios would be welcome). Thanks!

JSLink on displaying lists with new experience
Now we're trying the display list using new experience which released recently.
One important missing function is there is no way to do customization UI by using JavaScript. As you know the classic (current) experiense have JSLink. Hope to provide it on the new experience, too.51 votesboom! it's done ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded
As announced at Ignite 2017 and recently released – we now support column formatting, SPFx customization, and modern theming. Drag and Drop Folders to SharePoint
SharePoint supports dragging files from your desktop into a SharePoint document library, but as soon as you want to drag in a folder containing multiple files/sub-folders this is not supported. You have to recreate the folders manually in document library and then drag in files separately, this consumes a lot of time.

This works in Chrome and Edge now.

Make an easier way to navigate up when you are in a sub-folder within a document library.
The 'Navigate Up' button on the library ribbon tab is too hidden for users and it also requires an extra click every time you need to go up. The breadcrumb also requires an extra click because you have to click the 'Browse' tab in the ribbon to see it every time.

Mobile navigation support for O365 Hub Site provided navigation
Now when it is possible to create hub sites in addition to communication sites in O365 tenants which are in targeted release mode it seems that concept is initially missing mobile navigation support for navigation provided by hub site.
When you navigate either hub site itself or any other site connected to hub the UI only offers mobile navigation for current communication site and O365 global navigation.
I really like to see ready made and responsive solution for mobile navigation in hub site level navigation also.
43 votesThe SharePoint mobile app displays the hub navigation. Also when visiting sites on mobile web browsers the navigation also appears

Copy document to same library
When using the "Copy" function in a library, it seems the intention is to create a copy of the document in another library.
But when users want to just create a copy of a document in the same location with a different file name, SharePoint throws an error.
Why can the copy function not simply allow a new copy in the same library with a different filename?
40 votesboom! it's done ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded
Thanks for the feedback! We’re going to call this one done as the specific action of copying a selected item to the same library is supported in the modern UX. If there are other related scenarios you have feedback on please open and drive support with new suggestions. Thanks!

Fix top navigation for external users
When sharing a Communication Site with external users (activated with Set-SPOSite -Identity https://... -SharingCapability ExternalUserSharingOnly), they dont see the top navigation unless they reduce their browser window size below 1024px. Below 1024px window size the burger menu for mobile viewing shows up.
This is obviously a bug that requires immediate fixing.
Please fix this asap.Further info:https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/SharePoint/Communication-Sites-Navigation-for-external-users-not-showing/td-p/95641

Sync outlook group calendar sharepoint
The sharepoint integration should be expanded to calendars.

Allow list web parts on modern pages
Modern pages allow the addition of news, links, activity, etc., but there is no option to display list view web parts. We use lists constantly and rely on list view web parts. Specifically, I would like to continue using the very cool "Promoted Links" list in new sites and use the standard web part for that list. The tiles have been very popular for key navigation elements for a site, and I don't want to lose that when moving to modern pages/sites.

List and Library Column Widths
In document libraries and in the List View it would be great if the column widths and text size could be adjustable. This would make larger lists a bit more readable to the user rather that letting Sharepoint decide the column width.

Allow users to save a file from a SharePoint document library to their OneDrive
give an easy way for users to copy a file from a SharePoint site document library into their own OneDrive For Business. It was announced at the "FutureOfSharePoint" webinar that users will be able to copy a file from their OneDrive to a SharePoint site and I think it would also be beneficial to allow users to copy files the other way. I
m hoping this is already planned but just not mentioned.23 votesboom! it's done ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded

Top navigation on the new document library look
It is crucial for many of our customers that they do not get their top-menu in SharePoint removed when accessing document libraries (the new OneDrive for Business look). Please make it possible to activate this so the users are not "lost" in their own intranet.

Top (Global) navigation works in modern libraries now — but not if you’re using managed navigation. We’re working on managed navigation support now.

Quick Views support in Document Library UI
Ok, so quick edit views seem to be not supported in the new UI...you can create a new quick edi view, but you can only use in the old UI. It could be nice, and necessary, to add support to quick views in the new UI

Make the "(+) new document" button in doclib match available ContentTypes in the New button from Ribbon.
Please make the "(+) new document" button from the web part and document libraries match available CTs as the ones available under the "New" button from the Ribbon. Please also include "Document sets" in the available CTs :)
