  1. Allow Javascript customization and CSS branding/theming in the new Document Library Experience

Please allow javascript customization and css branding/theming in the new document library experience. A custom cross-site navigation is one example that is used by many customers. Also many customers want their intranet branded in a different color but office ui fabric blue.
JSLink is also used very often. And don't Forget about all the third-party forms solution provider like Nintex and others.
The new experience provides many advantages, but without customizations it is just not usable for larger intranets anymore.

  2. Replace URL spaces with dashes instead of %20

Please change how SharePoint generates links to uploaded documents and site pages, so that URLs with spaces will replace %20 with a dash instead. Most CMS tools including blogs do when generating SEO friendly URLs. Links with %20 throughout are too difficult to read.

This feedback site is a perfect example:

  3. A simple move/copy function between SharePoint Online Document libraries/folders/files

SharePoint Online Document Libraries are missing possibly the two most basic and fundamental functions in the online portal:

    - A move/cut function, which is missing altogether, both for folders and files
    - A copy function, which although technically exists, is really over complicated for a function which has existed in a much simpler form in every document repository technology since the mid-1980s...

Currently, in order to move a file or folder from within the online portal between different libraries or even different folders within the same library...well the function just doesn't exist. So users need to either sync the site…

Copy/Move within library, between libraries and across sites is now possible.

  4. Responsive design

The mobile views are not a solution, so many customers turn to custom design, but I would rather a responsive design be built into SharePoint.

Thank you for the suggestion! In the past several months, we have released a series of new interfaces for SharePoint Online, all of which are responsive (e.g, modern list, modern document library, modern team site home page, new site connect page, and modern site page, etc.). We also released mobile apps across iOS, Android, and UWP platforms. Hope these help you better work on mobile and on the go. Let us know if you have any new feedback/followups.

  5. Cross site collection navigation

Current term set based solution is not usable at all in real life multi site collection scenarios.

SharePoint hub sites ,which shipped earlier this year, provide a configurable cross-site navigation control. More information: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-SharePoint-Blog/Organize-your-intranet-with-SharePoint-hub-sites/ba-p/174081

  6. A Full Featured Forms Editor to replace InfoPath

So Infopath 2013 is supported in 2016, but SharePoint really needs a full modern full-featured forms editor. FoSL looks promising but the functionality is not clear at this time.

As announced at Ignite 2017 – we are releasing support for custom form creation in SharePoint using PowerApps. This capability is rolling out to PROD now. 7. Remove the limit (5,000 items) on SharePoint Document Library Syncing

The sync limit does not match OneDrive for Business, and adds complexity to the end user experience, administration and architecture of SharePoint. Please remove this sync limit.

We’ve recently rolled out support for syncing your Team sites (including O365 Groups) and shared OneDrive for Business folders with our OneDrive sync client. You can read more here: https://blogs.office.com/2017/01/24/onedrive-brings-new-file-collaboration-and-management-features-to-the-enterprise/ This includes no longer being limited to 5,000 files in a team site, on your PC or Mac. Thanks!

  8. Dynamic Column width for default Title column in SharePoint List

Currently the default "Title" column does not have an adjustable width in the new modern SharePoint view only, classic view is unaffected.

So if the column contains 1 row and the cell contains very little text the column width will not adjust to fit the width of the text and leave a large empty space, pushing adjacent columns to the right off the screen.

  9. Optimize Access Request Settings for site owners

Three requested updates to significantly improve the Access Request process:

    1) Allow multiple users to receive access requests

Access requests (Site Settings > Site Permission > Access Request Settings) can be sent to anyone with an email address, but it has three critical downsides: 1) you are limited to one email recipient; 2) the field does not accept SharePoint groups; and 3) it’s prone to misspellings of email addresses since the field is not a people picker.

One of the most extreme examples of how this is broken: My company’s CEO needs access to a file s/he has a link…

  10. Managed Navigation for new Document Library Experience

Currently the new document library experience does not support Managed Navigation. It would be great to have this as currently using the structured navigation seems buggy in the new experience. Specifically, it ignores the "hidden" attribute of structured navigation which can make for some large menus. We love the new experience and are hoping to train users up and roll it out however we need to get navigation right before we can do this.

Thank you for the feedback requesting support for classic publishing on modern pages in team sites. We have rolled out an update that will now correctly render your structured or managed navigation links on modern pages in classic team sites.

Please see the help article (https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Customize-the-navigation-on-your-team-site-3cd61ae7-a9ed-4e1e-bf6d-4655f0bf25ca?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US) for more details – or visit the MS Tech Community (https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/SharePoint/UPDATE-Support-for-Structured-Managed-Navigation-enabled-on/m-p/57384) to share any comments/questions.

  11. Add a link to a image in the Webpart image

In the new web part image of the modern experience, it's impossible to add a link to the image. You should add this possibily, with an option to open "in / out the screen". Without that, it's now impossible now to put a "image / button" to open another page.

  12. Publish date format defaulting to US Format in Modern Pages for other regions

The Published date on Modern Site Pages in Classic SharePoint sites is defaulting to US format (MM/DD/YYYY) although the tenant is in AU format (DD/MM/YYYY).

The date format for other content in SharePoint Classic sites is MM/DD/YYYY which is same as Regional Settings.

  13. Enable custom columns for modern pages

Consistent with the classic "publishing" use case, would like the ability to add custom columns to modern site pages and make these columns editable in the page properties UI in the Site Pages document library.

An extension of this would allow editing of the page properties on the page itself, similar to custom page layouts on classic publishing pages.

  14. Modified dates in Site Contents should reflect content changes, not system changes

Looking at the modified values in Site Contents has always been a quick way to recognize where activity has occurred - if it has. Without running any code we can quickly see if a site has been used recently. (It was easier to eyeball this in SharePoint 2007 in the vertical listing than it is in SharePoint 2013+, but that's a different UI issue - tiles aren't helpful for every use case.)

For months now, a list no one has touched for over a year might say "Modified 23 hours ago". It seems as though lists and libraries are being…

Thanks for this feedback. This is an example of how User Voice and Twitter brought this to our attention.

We have rolled out a fix to all of production for this issue. Going forward, Site Content’s dates will only update based upon real user behavior, not system changes.

It’s worth noting that this is a go-forward fix – we did not feel it right to go back and change existing dates.

Please let us know if you see any dates update that are unexpected.

  15. Enable the edit properties dialog when uploading documents with drag&drop

Upload via Drag&Drop is very easy but it is hard to set the metadata this way.
you need 3 clicks - no user does this much work to set metadata

  16. External Folder Sharing with without sign-in

Number 1 limitation is the fact that we cannot share folders without requiring users to sign-in. Adoption of this product will be limited without this feature.

  17. Enable folder Download option

I contacted support and currently only way to download folder is using IE and open the folder inside Explorer.

Support for other browsers would be great. Alternative is to compress content of folder to ZIP and download that file, like it's available in Microsoft Account version of OneDrive.

  18. Communication Site: Themes and and branding options missing

The current communication site template cannot be used for corporate wide communication because there are some important things missing.
The overall design is only able to speak and represent only the Microsofot CI/CD. The missing branding and theming options makes it hard to be used in corporates because there is currently no way to apply corporate communication and design guidelines to the page. For user it makes it hard to identify the page as an official communication channel by the company and not by Microsoft.

In addition not even well known and supported customisations through Themes is possible at the…

  20. Introduce markdown syntax for authoring content

As a systems engineer/developer, I love the office 365/sharepoint platform. The one thing that's stops me from using it for everything is the lack of a productive way to generate content.

Editing content in the UI is horrendously slow and painful, I just want to be able to author content quickly with markdown syntax, and publish my content/documentation quickly and easily.

What's microsofts standpoint on this? Am i the first to request this? (i highly doubt i'm the only one who wants this...)

    Cheers,

    Morgan
