Make the function export to excel in a document library work on a mac / osx
The export to excel button in a document library should also function on a mac.
Me too. This is such a basic feature, and honestly even for windows users, a basic export can be less of a hassle than a .iqy export file.
Since many people who would like to use SharePoint also use Mac computers, it's very strange that the export to Excel functionality is not supported in this context.
Since Macs have been around for a long time, and spreadsheets have been around for a long time, the desire to combine the two is pretty obvious. This is why Microsoft makes products that run on Macs.
Thus, I must concluded that the apparent lack of support in this instance is a very intentional nose-thumbing to Mac users.
This is a valid basis on which to discourage other organizations from moving into the SharePoint ecosystem--it is NOT FRIENDLY.
(Plus, it's not even a visually attractive ecosystem.)
We are not able to use SharePoint at its full capacity without this feature! Please add the excel export function to Mac soon! Thank you!

Looking to connect an Excel 2016 for MAC spreadsheet to grab data from a Sharepoint site but it seems impossible unless I use Windows.
It is extremely frustrating that your shitty software is so ubiquitous but only supports the shittiest browser on the planet. WTF?
also export FROM excel TO sharepoint please

Same functionality on a Survey list also doesn't work on a Mac.
