Allow a site owner to kick a user out of a file opened in Excel Online
If you have multiple people co-authoring in Excel Online, there are times when you need to open the file in Excel - typically for advanced formatting, etc. If someone has accidentally left the file open in their browser, there is no way to force them out and keeps the file locked. Although not always intentional, it can create a major headache by not being able to simply kick/close out that particular user from editing.

This issue needs to be addressed. And it needs to be for other docs like a Word doc. I have a user in there right now and she just left it open over night. I need her out NOW!

Must have! It is so annoying to have to ask users to log off. Sometimes they're not available and we have to wait a while.

This would be good. Either let File Creator have control of inactive users, and/or User with Admin rights.

This will be great. Please consider.

Excel is one file type where we see this a lot but it would be good to be able to perform this function on any file type.

Still after this.. at least something that maybe after a period of inactivity it gives you the option to disconnect?

Yes, this is really needed. Please make it happen. Right click on inactive user to boot them out...

2019, and I agree - though it looks like this isn't going to happen.
