Reliable presence information in SharePoint Online
Currently SharePoint Online getting presence information from local Skype for Business client. It would be great it actually talks to Lync Online at the background (similar to OWA) so that users can see presence information regardless of they are logged into Skype or not. Furthermore, presence information does not work on Chrome, due to the same reason, this gives an inconsistent experience across browsers and can benefit from improvement.

1. Do you have any latest update about Microsoft's road map to make presence information available in SPO classic list and libraries across "ALL" browsers? SPO is used with modern browsers and customers expect presence to show for Skype.
2. Will presence information be available in MODERN lists and libraries?

With Skype being EOL eventually and replaced with Teams, it could make sense to change the way this functionality works. (No more browser plugins) Modern browsers have also dropped/minimized support for browser plugins due to security concerns.
The Teams contact card includes presence information. I'll suggest updating the Office 365 and SharePoint Server contact card to get presence information the same way Teams does. I realize there are different implementations required, but getting this working in O365 should be a pretty reasonable request, since the functionality already exists in Teams.
Please, please, please add this feature! This would be a huge easy win for our organization.
Additionally, Edge needs to support presence so the current ActiveX control needs to be re-engineered to support modern browser technology please.
