And please add
* the capability to edit folder metadata using the Details pane.
* option to inherit document metadata from the parent folder defaults if values are not explicitly entered for the document -

Totally agree- If SharePoint is still an Enterprise Content Management tool, then this is an essential functionality to have the Metadata field requested upon upload.

This really is required - if a field is mandatory on a document library you should retain this functionality to allow uploaded documents to add the required data. The classic experience allows this but the new experience doesn't

Before the recent changes to the list/library look and feel the window requiring input to the metadata field popped up upon uploading a file. This no longer happens making it more difficult to ensure that the metadata is attached to the document. Although I have specified the metadata field as required, the system does not treat it that way under the new look and feel.
