we soooo need the ability to customize the sharepoint start page! Users are constantly frustrated and confused by this page as is.

Ditto. Please allow for the customization of the SharePoint start page. At a minimum...Ability to hide sites I'm following, Ability to hide my frequent sites, Ability to hide recommended sites. As other users have commented, this is a confidentiality, privacy, security issue for many users. While it would be awesome to be able to really customize that page, I would be thrilled to just get the OFF/HIDE buttons.
Again, I notice that this issue was raised in 2016 and the last Microsoft comment was 2019. Any progress on this?

frequent sites that are showing are not correct. And this gives issues on all places where this functionality is used. In MS Lists, Move to, Copy to, ....
Unable to create a list on a location because my recent sites are not correct. Would be better to have an autocomplete search box to select a site instead of "recent sites".... unable to select any site. -

Would disabling Delve and then re-enabling it perhaps flush these lists?

I have been searching on the internet for ways to remove recent deleted sites, and found nothing.
But I swear I removed them, but not sure if it will work with you.I'm using google chrome.
So basically, open your OneDrive, log in, the recent sites will be on the left probably:
1) Right click on the site
2) Try then one of these ("open link in new window or incognito window" Not sure which one I did to remove it.
3) the new page will be with no recent sites.
4) refresh your page.It seams stupid, but I don't know why it worked for me.

This discussion started in 2016. It's now October 2019 and still nothing. Does MS even look at these "User Voice" discussions.
I need the ability to customize the SharePoint homepage. The site activity is turning into a privacy issue. Users can see what managers are working on. This is an issue in company and I need to remove or limit what users see on that page.
MS, please fix.

I also had to raise this concern to Microsoft among many other SharePoint users in this thread. Date check: September 2019.
Hi, Microsoft, we need your response and positive action regarding this concern. We need to be able to modify the 'Activity' web part and delete unnecessary logs recorded in there. The web part itself is useful, however it becomes too "all over the place" when even the most useless activity done inside a site is recorded. We only need to see important ones. So please allow Users to modify.
At least give us some feedback. Thank you.

This is horrible. My frequent sites is seemingly randomized now. I have to scroll forever in my Office 365 apps to find my actual frequent sites. I need to clear this and let it rebuild from scratch.

I just deleted a lot of old sites... Guess what has filled my "frequent sites".. you guessed right.. the sites that are no longer there...

Microsoft really needs to add the ability to delete unwanted or unneeded projects. I can’t believe they ever added a feature that cannot be deleted.

Thank you IT Bear for the most useful potential soluton. You should send your bill to Microsoft as well.

This is indeed an irritating issue. Muddied view of deleted sites. Plus the time wasted trying to troubleshoot the problem. My bill is in the mail!

My "Frequent" sites are littered with stuff I've visited once, a year ago! Crowds out all of the stuff I do actually use daily.

This would be a very useful feature, and seems like a basic thing to have.
