Enable configurable switch to disable "Recent" in SharePoint quicklaunch navigation
mplement some sort of configurable switch to be able to disable the auto injected navigation node "Recent".
This "Recent"-navigation node - disaperance is on several customers wishlist for their own products based/developed on the SharePoint platform.

The way I hide "Recent" on my Quick Launch menu is by creating an empty SharePoint group (or Office 365 group) called "No-One" and turning on Audience Targeting.
Then whenever I see a "Recent" in a site's Quick Launch, I edit the "Recent" heading and only show it to the "No-One" group. This effectively hides it from everyone.

Microsoft needs to reconsider the ill-advised decision to enforce "Recent" and "Pages" links in Quick Launch and Current Navigation. What was MS thinking? The classic-page workaround is to use audience targeting with a group that contains nobody (I create _Nobody groups in every collection by default these days, just for this purpose). However, that workaround doesn't work on a Modern Page. So, for the love of sanity, eliminate this 'feature' or at least give users the ability (per this suggestion) to disable it, ideally across an entire tenancy or, barring that, each collection.
Is this ever going to happen or is Microsoft waiting till we get used to this? No, we do not get used to it and it is still a pain in the ass. Hope there will be a respond and a fix for this soon.
Stupid forced-to-use-"feature" which is never really used or wanted by anyone...

Totally agree! Make this happen, please!
I totally agree on this! Our customers complained so much on these annoying RECENT nodes so we created scheduled PowerShell-script that deletes them all.
