Dynamic Column width for default Title column in SharePoint List
Currently the default "Title" column does not have an adjustable width in the new modern SharePoint view only, classic view is unaffected.
So if the column contains 1 row and the cell contains very little text the column width will not adjust to fit the width of the text and leave a large empty space, pushing adjacent columns to the right off the screen.

Thanks for your feedback! We’re happy to report that your suggestion is now part of persistent column widths. The column width can be saved as part of the view and each user’s preference will be saved in local storage.

Please get the most basic thing working.
-Either introduce the new experience 100% or not. Not this half way!
-Why is some of my columns in list 8 times wide than they were suppose to be? And no way to set the width anywhere? -

It is adjustable!
But you cannot not save it or even better set column with in views -

This is basic stuff. The new modern view looks like an improvement, but when you factor in all the issues it's far worse than the classic version.

Column sizes constantly change (Width). Should be able to size Columns and that is saved as part of the "View" information.

I opened a case with Microsoft on this and they couldn't change this for our tenant. So, my only option is to request that this "design" be changed. I think it is ridiculous that we can't change the Title column width. Who's brilliant idea was that? We have a list that has a Title field that has only 6 characters maximum and there is a huge empty space before the next column. Meanwhile, several columns are pushed off the side of the screen that could have been fit in. We cannot use Modern experience until this is changed.

Besides this the first default column in any list is the header of the item inforamtion when you search for it which is a problem. Would be nice if the header information in search results could be chosen on a list by list basis.

When columns are resized could it apply permanently to the view?
The sizing of columns, text and padding in the modern list view means less information displays compared to the classic list view.
This can be ameliorated somewhat by resizing of columns, but on refreshing the list the resizing disappears. Given how painstaking the resize process is (it seems time consuming getting the cursor in just the right position - perhaps I'm trying in the wrong place, I do it in the column header zone) I'd rather only have to resize once rather than each time I load the list view. -

Need the ability to set default column widths on the new list layouts. Your defaults make the columns so short you have to adjust every time you refresh the page. We should be able to set the default widths in the modify view page. Asking us to write and attach CSS to each view is not a good idea.
