I suggest you ....

Multilingual Communication Sites

Including support would be needed.

My client has a legal requirement for using software, intranets that is Bi-Lingual.

Communication sites are really great way to building new Intranets quickly but this is a critical feature for adoption.

A must feature for Communication Sites with some fancy control to switch between languages easily. You can't ask for more from life.

communications sites in different languages would be lovely

My team supports some 11 000 people across 27 countries and 5 languages (including Russian/Cyrillic), so having this functionality would be a great win for Commnication sites

We are a big university with branches in multiple countries and are really in need of multi language support for Communication Sites. We are surprised to find that multi language support is not yet available

I think multi-lingual page variations would be amazing. For example - one global news centre which allows the one page, to be translated multiple times - perhaps even region specific (English - Australia, English - UK, Espana - Espanol). Currently thew best user experience is to create three separate news centres. Otherwise, users get lost.

We @Jabil use variations extensively for multi lingual sites and definitely need this feature before we move our legacy publishing sites to Modern communication sites

This is a vital addition for many corporates that will save huge amounts of time and money in translation costs and, crucially, enable easier adoption of comms sites spanning multiple geographies.

This is way overdue. We are a global company with multi-language users and we currently do not have a solution to create content specific to our non-US/non-english employees.

This is a show stopper for an international company. Though MUI provides some relief, we must publish our content in multiple languages to support our organization.

Any feedback from Microsoft would be appreciated.

Is someone at Microsoft can give an answer on this one? This requirement has been posted more than a year ago…. The feature is a must for international organizations wanting to use modern experience.

I would suggest to Microsoft to provide a Drupal-like multilingual solution as opposites to variations

  • Donia Strand commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

Variations is tied to publishing and it seems that publishing is on the way out, as many of its features are not present in modern sites and the modern UI has deprecated many of its features in the old classic site model. It would be very helpful to us to have multilingual sites in the modern sites - we do not now have a way to be able to move forward with modern sites and ensure that information is available to all our global users.

We're a global company and while SP variations was never a 'fun' experience we definitely need something to provide multi-lingual support to our sites that have regional and global audiences.

I just had to create 3 communication sites. One in English, one in French, one in Portuguese. Three sites to maintain and update. Multilingual support would be handy, just saying.

Really need this feature, in Belgium allmost all companies are in 2 languages (French/dutch) + all major companies are international!

Hello Microsoft, no concrete plans for multilingual modern Pages in SharePoint?
