Ability to resize images on modern pages
I'd like to be able to resize an image directly from the modern pages image webpart. This is really annoying that the pages are so easy to create but that you can't control the image size on the page.

How can a great tool, now allow me to change the viewable window of a PDF or other document? Really? Ya'll had it in the On Prem versions...why not have it in the "SP Online" ?

How can you have such a great tool and not allow personnel to modify for their specific need in presentation? Not sure why such features continue to be after-thoughts instead of incorporated from the beginning but it happens a lot with the Teams/ SharePoint functionality...

as I see the resize feature now released, it does not allow to resize to pxl width but rather is a drop and drag functionality. Would be a lot more useful to allow image sizes to be customized to exact pxl width so they will be the same size when aligning underneath one another in mobile views.

Will this have the same result as providing different versions of an image based on breakpoints as I scale the page down for mobile devices?

This is honestly pathetic Microsoft. Basic on-page image sizing is fundamental.

I just had a user come to me today asking how to do this and I had to tell him it can't be done. It seems very strange to me that there is not a way to do this. I hope this functionality gets added soon.

Are there already new developments about this request? Where does Microsoft stand now?

Typical of microsoft to depreciate Microsoft and calls SPO to be easier to create pages. I agree with the below comments of pals surprised that it is still not made possible in 2019. So what is the interest of comments and client feedbacks if none are taken into account and I would say more: who dared at Microsoft to claim that SharePoint online is progress when modern pages are so far from convenient to manipulate and far from what you want is what you get

Please also include the source of the image. Short of looking at the page source code, there's no way to know the file name or where the image is stored in the Document Library.

Please add this very basic but essential feature

Do you have any updates? Changing image sizes is a simple feature that should have been implemented right at the beginning. Why hasn't this been done yet. Sharepoint is a good system but lacks the simplest things, such as image resizing.

Yes yes yes. You are not working on it. If you were it would be there. It is a basic HTML feature. Just ran into it again, need a smaller picture to be scaled up to same size as a somewhat bigger one. AND yes I am able to resample it in a bigger size, but it takes time and it was supposed to be easy. And not all my colleagues can easily do that........ Anyway just say you wil do it or not, it just looks stupid to have it outstandig for years :-)

Scaling images is not something a typical end user understands, or has the software to achieve. Adding images to a SharePoint page is fundamental. Please add this very basic feature.

currently have to open photoshop and resize images every time I create a page. Can't expect our end-users to do the same, this needs to be added ASAP.

Really frustrating as such a basic ask takes so long to deliver by the User Experience team from MS. While spending tons of hours with additional features, they should fix basic first to give consistent experience.

This is a major bone of contention for me and the Modern design. I am still looking for the answer myself.

if I apply a filter based on any tag, the returned thumbnail list is limited to 5-6 object (1 browser row).
How can I deal with this if I have hundreds of photo to preview?
the "other" link is not practical... -

Please vote for https://sharepoint.uservoice.com/forums/329214-sites-and-collaboration/suggestions/37093906-ability-to-align-images-on-modern-pages as those 2 features go hand-in-hand

When will this be available, the image re-sizing is really lacking in SharePoint online compared to SharePoint 2013. And this is a real complaint from end-users.
