Is there any update on this request or a roadmap item we can reference?

Displaying an image in event webpart will increase the user experience of the site and will provide more rich experience. This is also a common ask from customers now a days. Along with this a carousel effect will add more values

Hi Team, Could you provide any ETA for this feature release.

users for my events have fed back they did not open the events as it was just a date and skipped straight past it.
It is here important to be able to add images / thumbnail to the event webpart card view to ensure engaging UX.
Ideally to be able to define two seperate images for events 1). for the webpart card view, and 2). the image banner when viewing / opening the event (already functionality).

For crying out loud, please add a photo. This is a common component for any web building platform. The current web part is bland and vanishes on the page.

I really think this web part has so much potential. I want to use it for issue/problem notifications on my home page i.e. critical, important, for information. Ideally this can be used for planned maintenance from IT depts or org wide issues. but it does lack the ability to edit background formatting and maybe icons/image as HarzicN suggests. I like the list options. :)

Obviously not critical, but would be a welcomed enhancement. Why give a user the ability to add an image to the event page, but then display a plain event tile in the web part? Even adding the ability to use a solid fill color would be a significant improvement.

I've been asked about this twice in the past week.
The Events web part is very plain.
Being able to either specify the colour or maybe control the colour from the category would be brilliant.

Can you combine the related ideas on this topic into this item?

I don't understand why Microsoft have not improved this webpart yet. It has a couple of obvious problems.
1) it is ugly and desperately needs the images or colour block options.
2) it only allows times in 30 minute increments.
3) Tracking who has clicked "Add to Calendar" would be a great 'nice to have' option. -

On the Event web part in Modern UI pages, it would be great to be able to display the image for that event (taken from the Event page) in the film strip tile. This should be optional with a toggle to switch off it is not needed. Thanks

Why on earth did Microsoft provide the facility to add an image to events, then not use that as a thumbnail rollup image for the Events Web part? This seems like it would replicate other functionality in SharePoint almost exactly and is the expected behaviour for users. Should be a quick win and helps easily identify relevant events.

Please, add a "visual" layout of this WebPart, including the image of the event, in addition to "Filmstrip" & "Compact" already existing layouts.

I would like to use the events web part in the Modern UI to display upcoming notices and events. It would be great to be able to display the image associated with the event in the web part in a similar way to what is possible with the News items.

Yes please! It's especially obvious when you include news and events in a highlighted content web part.

Yes, lots of white space here. Would like to have the option to include the images to make it more eye catching.
