Different view when inside a folder
When using the new library experience, my customers are facing this issue with views per folder.
The setup is mostly like; Using a document library with several folders for security reasons. The 'All Items' view is used to display the folders at the library root level. When the customer opens a folder, an other view should be shown at that time.
In the classic experience this configuration can be made by configuring an additional view which is shown in folders of content type 'Folder'.
Using the modern library, this doesn't work anymore unless switching to the classic experience.

Come on MS, this worked over 10 years ago, but not in modern style. Very poor service, and very frustrating.
Having different views on folders has been around since Windows 95 for goodness sake. -

We have the same problem, if we use the modern experience. With classic view it works directly. Please fix this bug.

I really need this fixed. I have a LOT of customers using this setup with a different view inside the folder as compared to the root of the library. Would really like to move to the Modern experience.

It would be so much better not to have folders at all. If we had the ability to change permissions for specific views that would solve a lot of problems. We need to be able to have view specific permissions and metadata specific permissions. Not having this makes SharePoint less competitive than other DMS solutions.

Hi all, a newer feedback post has been created here:
https://sharepoint.uservoice.com/forums/329214-sites-and-collaboration/suggestions/34688932-different-type-of-view-in-sharepoint-document-librIt would be great if everyone could go and vote for this one also. I've had a Support Engineer send me a link to the new post and acknowledge that this is a limitation of the modern UI.

Such an important feature in encouraging the use of meta data in a document library. Sometimes you just have to use folders for security reasons, so we need to be able to have different views at the top level of the library and then within these folders. Please fix ASAP!

Is this going to work in the modern library?
Any other option to create a default view for a sub folder from a specified content type? -

IMHO this is a BUG.
It is an OOTB feature, it works in the classis experience and not in the new layout. Please, fix it. :) -

Please add the functionality. And if not, please deactivate the view setting as it doesn't have any effect.
