Enable launching the client application by clicking on the file displayed as a search result.
I recognized that it is possible to control the file to be launched by the client application in the document library. However, when the user is using the in-site search, the user cannot control to start with priority in the client application by clicking on a file displayed.
Therefore, we hope the feature will be enabled to launch the client application by clicking on the file displayed as a search result for increas usability.
Thank you for your continued support.

Until recently we were able to get around this by taking advantage of user search preference settings. This option was removed by Microsoft recently and our users don't appreciate having to open in on-line and then re-open in desktop applications. Desktop applications are used by our staff as the online versions are not yet able to provide all the required functionality (track changes, advanced formatting.....). This is a step backwards for our users and adds confusion when documents opened from libraries and views are opening directly in the application. Bring back the functionality to set user preferences to open search results in the client application!!!

If the library is set to open in the client application, clicking a link in search results should also open in the client application. Currently it opens in the app, ignoring the library settings.
