Enable selecting the Client App or online application when opening URL link of Document Library.

Enable selecting the Client App or online application when opening URL link of Document Library.
Currently, I am aware of the behavior that it is automatically opened by the browsers regardless the setting of the Library when acquiring the URL format link from the existed files on SharePoint Online.
For example, the path "https: // <tenant name> .sharepoint.com / sites / <site name> / <document library name> / <file name>. <Extension>? d = <parameter value>" requires the process to delete "? d" from them by manually, therefore the user takes a while to doing this process everytime. Hence, I hope the feature will be enabled to selecte the Client App or online application freely when opening URL link of the Document Library.
Thank you for your continued support.

Even though only 90 votes please, please, please, do this. Why is it so cumbersome to use the desktop apps when we shift to Teams?
In the OneNote desktop app, I'm able to use the Office URI scheme. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office/client-developer/office-uri-schemes. It's a little tedious, but then guarantees the document will open flawlessly and directly in my team member's apps, by pasting ms-excel:ofe|u| infront of the link.
However, if I place that OneNote Notebook within MS Teams, the links don't work!!!! It appears that MS Teams adds "https://" in front of the excel:ofe|u| !?!?!?
This is terrible, because it essentially ruins migrating into MS Teams

This should be the same as the setting for document libraries some functions do not work the same with web versions e.g. copying from excel from the web app it does not copy formatting, but does from the client app. I can understand that some people won't have client apps then it should fall back to the web app. A lot of time is wasted reopening shared links.

This is ideal, almost vital, since when opening online, the document doesn't function the same way as it does in the app. In my case all of the header is missing, i am not sure what i am looking at. The companies file naming structure has made it harder to know which document i am viewing since many are linked through referenced documents, etc. I don't understand how this isn't a thing that exists. One less step to the app to make critical notes would be ideal. Being forced to stay in the cloud at least for an additional step just seems like Microsoft attempting to know what each and every user wants. The option has to be there at a minimum, make the cloud default.

Please provide a context-menu item on documents which creates a URL which opens the document in the fat-client instead of the browser apps.
The format for such a URL looks like this:
<office-url-scheme>:ofe|u|<URL>
Possible options for the <office-url-scheme> are:
ms-word:,ms-powerpoint:, ms-excel:, ms-visio:, ms-access:, ms-project:, ms-publisher:, ms-spd:,
e.g.:
ms-word:ofe|u|https://<tenant>.sharepoint.com/teams/<site>/Shared%20Documents/TestDoc1.doc -

Are there any additional information about implementing this funktionality? I think, it would be a great benefit to have the ability to chose the oppening behavior.
thank you!
