Publish date format defaulting to US Format in Modern Pages for other regions
The Published date on Modern Site Pages in Classic SharePoint sites is defaulting to US format (MM/DD/YYYY) although the tenant is in AU format (DD/MM/YYYY).
The date format for other content in SharePoint Classic sites is MM/DD/YYYY which is same as Regional Settings.

This should now be fixed

As we are an Australia business, we need all dates displayed in Australia Format DD/MM/YYYY and controlled by the Regional Settings.

This is happening on a site we have set up using the Communications template. The regional setting is UK (DD/MM/YYYY) however the Published date is stuck at US format (MM/DD/YYYY).

Poor user experience and there is no simple fix/alternate from MS.

I am seeing on newly created list even though my sharepoint site settings are in UK

I have users in multiple locations who want the date displayed in their local format (just like SP2013 used to do). SPO needs to pick up a user configuration rather than a site config.

Agreed, we have a lot of users complaining about this. We are UK based and so for us the dates should be dd/mm/yyyy. This published date should reflect the regional site settings. Surpised this hasn't been corrected yet.

This is a bug, not a feature request! SPS is 17 years old, I find it unbelievable that this wasn't spotted during release testing. What do you mean "There is no release testing?"....

I hope they don't take as long to fix this as they have with the "Today is...." on date pickers in my InfoPath forms (note - they still haven't fixed that!!). Must have been 2 years since I reported that... All regional settings at tenant, site collection and site level are set to my time zone...

I agree with Yassar Abbas. It wastes time for readers in the UK, having to work out the date because it's in the wrong format us.

Please change this, it makes it very difficult to easily see the date of content. It seems arrogant to assume other countries will just adapt to using a US format.

We have the same issue in the UK too. Microsoft please create an option to change this.
