Modern experience for Task lists
Half our lists are not normal lists but task lists. Often both normal lists and task lists are combined in themed processes with lookups.
It would be really great if the task lists can also switch to the modern experience. It is getting really annoying now to have a mixture of classic and modern experience within the same site/for a single process. Specially for the end user there is need in consistency. Also to introduce the modern experience properly it is much better when a total site can be changed at once and not only a few apps.

I cannot convince my organization to use SharePoint to manage our multi-partner project just because everything looks modern and Tasks list looks old-fashioned.

We love MS Planner and MS To-Do, but we use SharePoint Task list, because we can add custom columns, we can limit the permission to a tasks for specific users and we can create folders to support mass of data or address the limits and boundaries of fine grained permissions. Please support modern task lists in SharePoint Online

Dear MS people. We are still using and developing tools with Tasks Lists. They are very usefull. We manage the management plan of the company with Task List (more tahn 25 management plants, with all the departments and factories included).
Now we connect tasks to Outlook. But we would like to have Sharepoint Modern Experience, and to be able to link with To-Do for new features

With many 2013 workflows which must use the classic task list and the significant effort to port them to Power Automate, having Task Lists share the Modern Experience would greatly ease the transition. I get that this maybe throwaway, but it would also respect SharePoint customer's investment and the need for assistance to transition to the newer technologies. It would make us much less frustrated and happier and for that alone you might consider it! Having sites that flip between modern and classic list experiences is a confusing mess! It really is rather surprising UX choice (failure?!).

It is an abscess, this post was created almost 4 years ago, and nothing yet, no answer or traces that will be updated, The Microsoft List is an update of the Sharepoint lists and not the task application. Planner is for team tasks other than internal tasks, Please Miscrosoft it's time to update tasks for a modern experience.

Found a solution to putting task lists onto a modern page. Use the Embed webpart - Copy & paste the url of the task list you want to display & save. Can be to a task list from another sharepoint site all together.
This means if you ever want, you can create a sharepoint page to serve as "task list central" -

why this was never made available from the start is such a bad oversight - if deliberate - even worse. Some types of people, organisations or teams are not going to like the newer planner board approach.
The new planner board can not satisfy all requirements for project management & espcially because it has no waterfall or gantt chart options. -

Yes, it would be great to have the ability to have task list to a list item. Add it as a separate link, like how comments are added to a list item or as a sub-list similar to how Microsoft Project create task then a sub-task, with the ability to show/hide sub-tasks.

WTH, Microsoft? Can you please be more customer-centric and fix this? You've created a task list that more closely resembles project. So, when using it to it's design intent, it is a central part of a project managed business. The list should absolutely be shown on the home page of the website. This seems like a basic thing to do.

@Andy O We experienced the same thing, this is our workaround at this moment; If you fomat the column with the option: format column, the text will appear.

What I experience when migrating from On Prem to Online the data in the title field of tasklists is replaced by id numbers in modern experience. In Classic the data is still there, so users have to use the classic version in this case. Can you fix that as well while picking up this uservoice or offer a workaround (we migrate with ShareGate)?

They want you to use Planner and abandon SharePoint. That's what it looks like to me.
