Inhertance breaks - Copy Link
Whenever 'Copy Link' option is hit in SharePoint, it automatically breaks the inheritance for that document/folder. This makes it very hard to manage the site permissions and result in tons of items where inheritance is broken.
It would be great, if it doesn't break inheritance unless someone who doesn't have permissions to the site tries to access the item.

This is very frustrating. Microsoft Sharing and Copy Link functionality has been difficult in SharePoint 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, and now online. !5 years to get it smooth out and we are still waiting.
This is a big problem if users regularly share content and then use the copy link function to generate static links on pages to these content items. If the unique permissions are removed on those items then the links are broken. Microsoft, please finish designing and building the permissions infrastructure - frankly, it is currently a mess.

I have created an application customizer that solver the proble. It doesnt break permission. Additionally it generates url for pdf file with id https://sharepointhd.wordpress.com/2019/03/30/copy-link-trouble-in-document-library-modern-sharepoint/
Furthermore, the option "Copy link" (or sharing in general) seems to be available even if the user does not have the usual "Manage permissions" permission level - this makes it very hard to manage access.

This is HUGE risk for permission administration. Please stop breaking inheritance with "copy link", and don't add permission. A "copy link" should NOT add permission this is confusing. There is a "Share" button for that, just next to "copy link"...
Also make the "copy link" to Document ID, so that if document is moved the link is still working!
This is a huge risk for Content security.
