New Event Web Part should support recurring events
The new event web part in SPO should support recurring events for Birthdays etc. We use it to keep track of birthdays in our office, but the new web-part does not support recurring events.

Thank you for the feedback! We are not planning on adding support recurring events at this time but we will keep it in mind in the future when we look at improving the overall event story on SharePoint.

WE NEED THIS. The Group Calendar "solution" provided is NOT VIABLE for our users. FYI, This feature is requested on at least 3 user voice posts, for a combined vote total of 1000+ (currently). Clearly this is IN DEMAND. Please take action sooner.

why have calendar category like a "birthday" that is a recurring event with out the option of keeping it year after year. SO MUCH WASTED TIME TO RE-ENTER INFO!
Shouldn't take an administrative assistant to tell you this

Microsoft, does your business not use recurring events? You should know how painful it is to make these one by one. Absolutely stupid. But you can do whatever you want when you are the only software company with the tools in town.

The fact that recurring events are not supported is ridiculous, and a massive oversite.

@Admin please merge this with
as this is an important feature that may not be getting all the votes tallied.

Is it possible to merge all the requests for this functionality so the total vote can be tallied?

We just migrated from SP2013 to SPO and this breaks key existing functionality. Also our tenant has not enabled the use of Groups.

For events that repeat we NEED the recurrence to avoid creating multiple events and hitting the list view threshold.
It may not have been in your plans "right now" in March when you added that status to this suggestion, but please, reconsider your stance.

This actually feels like a BUG to me -- what we are seeing is that we can have a calendar attached to the Events web part, and all Calendar events show nicely, EXCEPT RECURRING EVENTS. It should be in your plans right now, please.

Seriously!? Not helpful. This is a standard feature on calendars and necessary in any workplace.

This seems like a VERY obvious function that Sharepoint should have...but allow recurring calendar events to show up in the Event web part within Sharepoint. Why would you be able to categorize something as a birthday or anniversary in your calendar if the recurring event functionality within web parts doesn't even work? I thought it was a bug at first, but after a very small amount of research, I found out other people are having the same issue. PLEASE FIX!

This web part not only does not support recurring events, but also has a bug by which it displays ALL recurring events regardless of the filter. So in April it would show all events from beginning of time if they are recurring, ifvthe source is set to something other than a list. MS support confirmed a bug and told me to create a user voice so that MS fixes it! Wow.
The whole issue with this web part is that it uses search to get data, and index is not smart enough to provide recurring dates. -

Used an Out of the Box alternative! We too needed the recurring events for an overview of birthdays but solved it by creating an O365 Group (called it Birthdays), which created a Group Calendar. This Group Calendar supports recurring events and can be displayed on a modern page! Yeaaahhhh! Hope this helps someone.

Not having this feature is going to greatly affect how my studios are being run. Can we please get reoccurring events to show as individual?

Not having this feature is prohibiting me from moving off of on-prem teams to SP Online! We use recurrence for our out of office calendars, our on-call calendars, training meetings, etc. We use this every day on prem.

This should be available out of the box. Why would you let users load events in a calendar as a series that are not displayed as Upcoming events in the Events web part in modern pages.
