Anchor Links or Collapsing Sections
It would be helpful to have sections that collapse, tabs, or anchor links for pages that contain lots of information. Word allows you to create bookmarks, and OneNote allows you to create tabs to easily navigate lots of information on a given topic. It would be great if you had the same flexibility with a page in SharePoint

We’ve shipped anchors on pages for all text web part headings (H1, H2, H3). Simply hover over a heading on a modern page and you’ll see the link symbol to that anchor. Clicking on the link adds it to the end of your page URL #as-an-anchor-using-the-text-from-the-heading.

So this feature is enabled for some tenants but not others? I see someone posted that the H tags have links but I'm not seeing it.

Its been implemented already I think! Every H tag generates a unique links which can be copied and used with a button or a hyperlink to make it work like anchor now. Just hover at the end of the H tag when not in edit mode and you'll see a link icon appear, right click on it and you can copy the link to use as anchor.

As there is still no solution from Microsoft (!!!) - I just used this one - easy to install and to deploy and it will just open and show all sub-links at the left navigation: https://www.tecconsult.at/products/sharepoint-auto-expand-left-navigation

What is "Shortly" when it comes to implementing this functionality? In my book it isn't 6-7 months.....

Is there a plan to allow deep linking to Document Library Web Part and List Web Part on modern pages? Would love to have this since you can't remove the header from these WPs, nor can you link to them, so adding a Text WP above it -- to which you can link -- just looks terrible.

We need anchors that can be used to link academic-style footnotes to with text web part to another text web part at the bottom of the web page.

Hello Commentators,
I can confirm, that they are indeed rolling out the anchor links as of now.
It has not been rolled out on our tenant yet but I had the opportunity to test the feature on another one. I guess we will have to wait a bit longer but it is definetely coming. H1, H2, & H3 are working even across pages. -

If there is a way to anchor the title/header layout of an o365 sharepoint page. That way the end user always knows what page they are on. Thanks

This would be helpful, but being able to collapse/expand entire sections, including images is also really critical for us for adoption.

I can't see anchors on my SharePoint pages - can anyone help?

Heiko commented
I see it is already live. After saving the SharePoint page you see anchors in each section. When you copy the url you can use this to go forward to the right anchor.

Definitely need anchor links and collapsing sections both within modern pages. Any ETA on the arrival of this feature?

I'd definitely like to see expand/collapse sections. We use this function widely using a script editor in our classic. branded intranet and can't see moving forward with modern until the modern pages have more features like this.
