Save modern team sites as an template
Why's not this an option? I would Love to to have this, I can't find the option on these sites, would make my life so much easier since we're using these as an organization and I need to make them often. I want to make a basic template for projects so I do not need to do them always manually.
Is there a way to save them and make a new site collection with them?

I know this is an old post but I just got off a support call with MS on trying to create a template. This is not an option with the modern sites (to my discovery). I would like to throw in my vote to have this implemented. We have a client that wants to move into the modern SharePoint but we don't have a way to move their POC site into a QA or PROD setup.

This should already be there since MS is switching to modern sites so templates should be created with Modern expereicen as creating it with classic doesn't make any sense since we then we don't have an O365 group associated with and moreover not MS Teams

Totally agree! I cannot convince my customers to define site template for re-use. :(
