Create page, delete option
On Modern pages, when clicking add page by accident there is not immediate way to delete the page. Add a delete option to the new page screen.
This happens frequently, either because someone starts to create a page or because someone accidentally clicks the + sign in the news web part.
The lack of a delete on this page causes the pages to be abandoned before they are fully created and fills up the Site Pages library with orphan pages.
Agree with this suggestion completely.
Microsoft have made page creation really intuitive, but we still have to train our authors how to go through a series of (to them) complex steps so that they can delete their pages.
For people with a long history with SharePoint, the process is 'obvious', but regrettably in my organisation we have very few people who have the necessary depth of experience.
It's critical that deleting pages be as simple as creating them. If people delete by mistake, then our power users can help people retrieve things from the recycle bin.
Cmon Microsoft, so many basic gaps in this tool, is so frustrating....
I face so many daily issues that block my work because of some simple missing functionality.
