Accordions Webparts
Introduce Accordions & Tabs (In-page) web parts | More Table Functionality
Accordions help users see only the content they need. Accordions expand and collapse sections of content with a title.
Horizontal & Vertical Tabs (In-page)
Tabs are perfect for single page web applications, or for web pages capable of displaying different subjects.
Tables are very limited. You can't even merge a cell? Enough said.

This is essential, not only for SharePoint online but for on-prem too. I've never seen an intranet site where tabs and accorions aren't a requirement. Cmon Microsoft please read this and give us an update. 9 months and not even a comment about it?

I cannot stress enough how badly this is needed. It's also not something new to SharePoint. The Accordion App was/is available in Classic; maybe Microsoft didn't create it but it is there and if someone else could do it, this would be a cake walk for the Microsoft team. The code to create the app is also available to the general public. https://deepinsharepoint.wordpress.com/2018/08/23/accordion-menu-for-sharepoint-modern-pages/
Please create and offer this in your SharePoint online Modern Web Parts, it will help clean up and simplify our sites tremendously!

Ok Microsoft, it's now December - any chance of this going on the backlog? Consider it a Christmas present to all your users. :)

This is such an important feature for intranet pages as there are lot of informations on one page based on the topic and too much scrolling frustrates the users. We moved from Confluence to SharePoint and this feature is putting us off!
Please bring this feature soon so that we have the ability to collapse section by default.
Thanks! -

Identical post Scott mentions is https://sharepoint.uservoice.com/forums/329214-sites-and-collaboration/suggestions/35200339-additonal-web-part-functionality. Together these have 72 votes.
We use accordions on our intranet a lot--they're custom-built with CQWPs and item styles. I know nothing's simple, but this would be a really straightforward thing to design and release, and should include the ability to style the panes and headers with colors, font sizes, opacity, custom image for the collapse arrows, borders, and margins.
In addition to this, MS could include all sorts of standard UI widgets in SP: Flyout menus, sliders, cover flow-type carousels, buttons, etc. Go wild! These are really easy ways to allow us to customize SP, especially since lots of customization is going away in Modern.

This looks like a duplicate of an identical post, but I still totally agree with this, particularly the accordions - i'm trying to replicate an existing site, not because I don't like change, but because there is no other way to present the information in a clear and concise way. Plus I know that the use of accordions works for our staff.
I can also see a use for the tabs suggestion on another site that will be due for migration soon, so both features would be fantastic to have.
