Make page title region 'Text above title' field capable of being a hyperlink
Loving the new page 'title region' options for SharePoint Modern pages.
I have a suggestion for the 'Text above title' field - make this linkable, i.e. so that the on-page text can link to another page.
One of the shortcomings of Modern Communications sites is that when a user is on a page they are forced to focus (mouse over) the navigation in order to figure out how a page might be related to other things on the site. Remember that some users will deep-link to a page rather than click through site navigation.
Due to the lack of either breadcrumb navigation or automatically generated on-page 'local navigation' (yes folk, I know I can add my own with Quick Links), it is difficult for users to understand where they are on a site at first glance of the page they have landed on.
I have begun adding the text of a page's 'Parent' in the Text above title field as a means of helping users understand the relationship of the page they are on to what appears in the visible navigation. I'll be testing this with my users and getting their feedback soon - will share the results.
It's occurred to me that if the 'text above title' actually linked back to the parent page this would further assist users. I can also hear you saying "but surely the users would just click on the main site navigation".
Although most users would, my instinct tells me that because the text above the title styling make it look 'button like', many users will think it is clickable. This is a question that I will ask the folk I get to test my pages.
I'd also welcome any thoughts the rest of the community has about my idea.
