Ability to insert images in table on modern page
I'm new to modern pages, and was very surprised that tables in modern do not allow you to insert images. I frequently use tables to help with overall page content layout/formatting & often have pictures inserted inside those tables. We were able to do this in the classic page format - will this capability be restored at some point soon with modern?

I echo what Mishba stated, why are we losing this basic functionality??
Microsoft you are so sloppy in your methods. This is part of the reason why you get such a bad reputation and it is soooo unnecessary.
Hi Carol, have you achieved this "Ability to insert images in table on modern page".
If Yes, can you tell me how you did
Unfortunately content that I want to create within SharePoint (which includes a table with images for Which Tool When) is now being created by the IT Team in Confluence which is outside of the Intranet.

Seriously? IBM could do this 2 years ago
I agree we need this simple functionality... Really surprised we can't do this in 2020.

I agree. Why are we losing simple functions?

It's exactly one year later, February 3, 2020, and I have the same problem of not being able to insert an image in a table. And, I don't have the option of of using a Classic format in my organization – just Modern. I need to have seven images across the width of the page and it seems having them in a table is the only way to accomplish that. But, in the Modern format there is no option to inserting images in a table. Is there an alternative way of accomplishing this in a Modern site?

Tables are just not the right way to do this. It was a decade ago before divs and such. But we are stuck with this as the only option. MS, why did you send us back in time?
