Set the locale when creating a site (and tenant-wide defaults)
Within the new SharePoint admin center, we can set the 'timezone'. But - why (WHY !?!) does this not include the LOCALE setting as well ??
I need to change EVERY site collection to "English (Australia)" - as we use DD/MM/YYYY format (most countries do also).
Even better - would be a TENANT-WIDE setting for ;
* Timezone
* Locale

Yes when will Microsoft have this feature available?

This is so frustrating. Imagine managing 400 site collections across 20 clients. This has a huge impact on file management and compliance. Unfortunately some users only pick it up later and this causes unnecessary panic when it shows they’ve edited content at 3am so it raises alarms and users think they’ve been hacked

And all content with dates must be in our required format, like the home page dates too. Let us decide how to manage our content.

Just been onto MS support about this. Anything that's user created (which is how MS are saying we should do things now) is set to US locale. So if a user sets up a group the SP site that comes along with it is set to US (with their stupid date format that NOBODY else uses).
This apparently is by design. Timezone can be set tenant-wide, but locale cannot.
I'm just speechless.
