Enable Audience Targeting in Modern Menu
It would be great to be able to have Audience Targeting on the Mega Menu. I have navigation links that I would like to expose to a limited set of users e.g. managers.

It would be great to be able to use SP Groups or SP Audiences... not just O365 groups.

Yes, please add this ability to the mega menu. We used Audience Targeting on our on premise menu.

Please add security group audience targeting to navigational items on Hubsites. This would allow us to move from Classic to Modern.

I have just read this article, Planning Navigation for the modern SharePoint experience, in Microsoft Docs.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/plan-navigation-modern-experience
It has a lot of good advice, but the one crucial feature missing in navigation is targeted links. This is a fundamental requirement of the classic pages and meant that users were not frustrated by clicking links that lead to things they are permitted to access. The article suggests that this is something that is "coming soon" and that this would be on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap. However, I cannot see anything about this feature there and it is so important. At the moment, the only way I can make sure site owners or specific groups have private links, is by using publishing navigation but this is switched off in the Modern Sites. If this functionality is not available, I just cannot justify moving to the newer formats and will have to stick with Classic sites. Please add targeting both of navigational elements and web parts as a top priority.
