When using bulk processing in SharePoint lists via (i) existing entries in elements are deleted without warning !!
If you select several elements in order to add data from a selection field with multiple input via mass processing, the existing data in this field will be deleted.
The following example:
I have created a list of "software inventory data". The list has a field of the type selection with multiple output. All elements in this selection field had data such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint. For some elements, the software access should be recorded subsequently. If you select elements in the list with "Ctrl" and select mass processing on the right with i and then select, for example, the software access in the selection field to expand the inventory, the software access is saved in the selected elements but the existing data (Word , Excel, PowerPoint) are deleted without warning, if you only select 1 data record then not.
Does anyone have an idea or can someone confirm it?
In any case, Microsoft Support was able to confirm this.
Please dear Microsoft developers update the function so that the existing data is not deleted
The implementation would only be to adapt the type selection with multiple selection so that only the selected values are added and existing values are not overwritten.
