Add an option to truncate/show all by default "Multiple lines of text" column in a Sharepoint list
It would be really great if there will be an option to truncate or show all the content of a "Multiple lines of text" column in a Sharepoint list.

It would be really helpful if we could limit the number of characters that can be entered in a multiple lines of text column, as well.

Yes, please!
The showing of all lines is definitely not happening in my list, and it is driving me up the wall. An option to do either would be a blessing : ) -

This may be a duplicate of https://sharepoint.uservoice.com/forums/329214-sites-and-collaboration/suggestions/17272670-row-height-in-modern-list. Please could we combine votes?

Currently, it seems that the behavior changed again. The content of the column is showed all. I'm 100% sure that there's a lot of admins who are pulling their hair because of this change.
Imagine having lot of contents on this column for serveral items. It'll eat a lot of spaces on the page!!!

This will make navigation in Sharepoint a lot easier!

Agreed. It should be an option to truncate vs. untruncate content in a Multiple Lines of Text column. In fact there is currently a link called 'show more' / 'show less' (located at the bottom of the Multiple Lines of Text field when viewing the list form) but it no longer works! It used to work to truncate/untruncate before the recent MS update... but now these links do nothing. I don't understand why MS would change the functionality to untruncate everything AND choose to keep the link there that says 'show less'... when the link clearly no longer works. It's misleading to users (to say the least!) to have a link there that does absolutely nothing.

I agree, both options should be available. Until the last update we showed only a few lines. I always thought it was because I chose "6 line" to view.

Very good idea since I'm seeing some who requests to display all content and some requests to truncate the content of this column.
