News web part carousel end user control to stop the movement required
The news web part 'carousel' layout does not currently include an end user control that allows the user to switch off the movement. The web part settings only allow for the animation to be on or off ( Automatically cycle news) and for the seconds between each change of news post to be determined.
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG2), Guideline 2.2- Enough Time, criteria 2.2.2 Pause, Stop, Hide (Level A criteria) requires that moving, blinking or scrolling information that (1) starts automatically, (2) lasts more than five seconds, and (3) is presented in parallel with other content, there is a mechanism for the user to pause, stop, or hide it unless the movement, blinking, or scrolling is part of an activity where it is essential.
My organisation must meet the AA level of WCAG 2, anytime we use the news web part, carousel layout with the animation enabled we are technically failing in our mandated accessibility obligations.
Please add a control to the end user side of the carousel layout for the News web part (and any other web part that has a carousel layout) so that we can meet our accessibility obligations
